Sergey Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, recently praised Fox News’ coverage of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, claiming that the network is providing “some alternative points of view.”
How is it Julian Assange has been tortured imprisoned for crimes against the U.S but not even committed in America? The files he leaked were said to be Russian disinformation against Clinton and false. Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, Steve Bannon do it daily and Trump walked out of the White House with classified material and they have done it within American borders. They have done more harm killed and maimed more Americans than Assange, are allowed and continue to do it.

But now another key angle has been exposed: While, in the past, Fox opposed advances by organized labor, demeaned unions, insulted striking workers, supported companies over unions, opposed higher wages for workers, and falsely blamed unions for supply chain troubles during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company is now egging on this labor shutdown — which not only sabotages other workers, but was not authorized by any union or democratic process in the first place.

The illusion of “straight news” at Fox disappeared as personalities like Bret Baier, Martha MacCallum, Harris Faulkner, and Bill Hemmer spent 2021 spreading conspiracy theories, promoting misinformation, and minimizing the seriousness of COVID-19 while undermining vaccines.

While Tucker Carlson has been flirting with white nationalism for years, 2021 was the year he went full-tilt and repeatedly said the quiet part aloud, explicitly referencing the white supremacist “great replacement” conspiracy theory – and earning praise from infamous former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. And Carlson’s status as the most-watched Fox prime-time star seemingly encouraged his fellow hosts to follow suit; Laura Ingraham warned her viewers that Democrats “will import new voters to offset and eventually replace all you old people.” Carlson has long pushed white supremacist talking points with full corporate support from Fox Corp. Fox News cried “victim” after the ABC’s video on Murdoch but pride themselves on what they do.

Unfortunately, there is only one Democratic Party in America that protects or seems to protect Democractic processes. It’s not the Republican Party. There needs to be a redefinition of what “news ” is and a re-examination of the First Amendment Protection given. Julian Assange a publisher and journalist is accused of a crime he didn’t even commit in America and is being extradited without bein afforded any First Amendment Protection. He is recognized by the rest of the world as a member of the press and has won awards in recognition of that. We keep yelling “freedom of the press” but surely “the press” has like everything else changed over time and needs redefining and clarifying? Because Fox News certainly isn’t what the “press” was last century let alone the century before or even when the Constitution was written.
The UK made a judgment on Murdoch’s News of the World so much so Murdoch shut it down in order to keep his license and not be jailed. The British almost declared him “unfit” to run a media company. Surely Americans need to give consideration to events like that.
However, let’s face it they had no qualms in planning to assassinate or kidnap Julian Assange and sentence him to 175 years in jail for a single event. How many years did American Democracy dream of ways to kill Castro? The great experiment at home but Fascism in foreign affairs is Ok it seems. in the past 30 years they have allowed Murdoch to do them slowly. More harm done to their nation than Assange has ever done. Murdoch has assisted in supporting the extreme right, inciting and normalizing violence, riots, pandemic death, and continues to do so in plain sight under the protection of the 4th amendment. Nobody has died because of Julian Assange’s actions. He didn’t even commit the crime he’s accused of on American soil. You can be arrested in outer space if America chooses.

The Great American Experiment has become a diseased version of what was once intended and they keep feeding that disease rather than curing it. The System is very broken and there is no equivalence to the actions on both sides of the divide. There is no common purpose the ‘we’ is just ‘me’. One group still wants to Serve America while the other simply Service it. Trump has been doing the latter all his life and Mary his neice warned and told America so.Even she didn’t believe he’d get as far as he has.
If voters and activists are going to care, they need to start seeing consequences happen, and not just to the foot soldiers who stormed the Capitol. Trump, Meadows and other co-conspirators who organized and led the coup are all walking around free, openly plotting another coup, while also cooking up various schemes to defraud their own supporters. As long as the Department of Justice treats an organized conspiracy to overthrow the government as beneath attention, Democrats can’t expect voters to take this seriously. Yes, even if they release a bunch of text messages proving what everyone already suspected.
In a Democracy there is a common day to day reality with which we all accept and work,agree and disagree in order to achieve the best possible outcome for everyone. Good bad or ugly one might disagree with the result at any one time but not the process. One can try to push that interpretation hard and to the edge but the fundamental agreement remains in place and that’s Democracy. In a Democracy both sides accept the possibility of compramise and a negotiated loss while moving forward. However today that no longer holds as far as the Republicans are concerned and we saw that on the 6th of Jan yet the Democrats keep going as if nothing has changed and that the political system isn’t broken beacuse to do otherwise is to accept war. However the Democracy is broken because the chaos has spilt beyond politics and has polluted all accepted institutions behaviors and cultural beliefs, reality shattered. Power is in the hands of the rule breakers and until arrested chaos will reign. There can’t be a one party Democracy.
There was a catalyst and when Murdoch arrived and and tipped over America’s world with alternative facts he polluted the Fourth Estate and turned it against the nation along with the wealth of 0,01% that wanted to control it. If the British had Murdoch there’d have been no independance or brave experiment.

Fox News let over 16 hours pass before even mentioning the bombshell information released by the House select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection, which revealed failed attempts by multiple Fox personalities to convince then-President Donald Trump to call off a mob of his supporters who had attacked the Capitol. Those same hosts have deliberately lied about the attack ever since, and sought to stop the investigation.

Purdue Pharma and the Sacklers were successfully prosecuted for misinformation after enormous effort. They weren’t prosecuted for producing Oxy which is still available. The Fox correspondent claimed to have reached out to the FAA for clarification on the reason for the flight restriction. However, the FAA directly contradicted Fox News’ story. This week, CNN found that Fox Corporation – Fox News’ parent organization – has quietly implemented its own version of a “vaccine passport.” Fox has reportedly “developed a secure, voluntary way for employees to self-attest their vaccination status,” according to employee emails obtained by CNN business. The company has apparently encouraged its employees to self-attest in an effort to “assist the company with space planning and contact tracing.
According to CNN, Fox’s email to employees said, “providing this information to FOX will assist the company with space planning and contact tracing.” Not only that, the process has been given the name “Fox Clear Pass,” and provides the following incentive for complying: “You no longer are required to complete your daily health screening through WorkCare/WorkMatters.” Waitaminute, that’s not a…not…a VACCINE PASSPORT, IS IT???

If you watch Fox’s coverage of the vaccine rollout over the last six months, there is one thing you know for certain: Fox hosts and personalities do not want businesses to require proof of vaccination, colloquially known as vaccine passports. Carlson’s colleagues and bosses don’t seem to buy his NSA claims. No other Fox News or Fox Business program had mentioned his allegations since he first offered them last Monday, even as Carlson returned to the topic the following three nights. That is significant because Carlson is the face of the network and his program’s “reporting” often becomes grist for shows up and down the Fox lineup. Meanwhile, reporters asking Fox to comment on Carlson’s claims have come up empty. That silence is particularly extraordinary given that Carlson is alleging that the Biden administration is illegally targeting the network’s employee in order to destroy its 8 p.m. broadcast. If the Fox brass believed that was happening, they’d presumably shout it from the rooftops.
Fox hosts Larry Kudlow and Tomi Lahren are scheduled to participate in Republican Party fundraisers in the coming weeks. The two network employees are doing campaign events even though Fox claims it has a policy against such practices.
For dozens (hundreds?) of advertisers and would-be Fox advertisers, that choice over the years has been a no-brainer. Corporate America spends untold billions each year cultivating brand value and has no interest flushing that away via some hot-headed basic cable host. Bye-bye Disney, Lexus, T-Mobile etc. They all have dropped Carlson. He’s Madison Ave. poison. So why does he still have a show? What’s now protecting Carlson, aside from the support he gets from Murdoch’s powerful son, Lachlan, who has publicly defended the host’s white supremacy programming, are cable fees. Billions of dollars in cable fees. The network earns more annually in fees from cable operators, such as Comcast and Verizon, that pay to carry Fox News content, than the network earns from advertising.
