‘Escalating trend’: Most hate speech in India linked to Modi’s party

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Some officials in his party have been found to be purveyors of hate speech.

India has seen an “escalating trend” of anti-Muslim speech since Modi rose to power in 2014. The report found that more than half of the documented incidents this year were orchestrated by the ruling BJP and affiliates including the Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Sakal Hindu Samaj. Those groups have ties to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, or RSS, the ideological parent of the BJP.

The state of the ‘No’ campaign
One small step for a white Australian one huge step for mankind and Human Rights. Yes, Australia “It’s Time” to undo our Colonial and Inglorious past and move forward together as the Multicultural Nation we are.
Dutton said he would prefer to see the money spent on practical outcomes for children in remote areas. It’s a pity that in the nine years the Coalition was in government, and with Mundine as a key adviser, it ripped $500 million out of Aboriginal programs. Many of those programs, according to Warren Snowdon, the former long-time member for the NT seat of Lingiari, were achieving real results in remote areas.
For her part, Price is consistently offensive. She punches down on her own people and, as Tony Wright wrote in The Age, “she is a weaponised conservative woman who can say things out loud that white conservatives haven’t dared to say since the early 1960s”.
It is not race that makes First Peoples special but their prior history on the continent and their bloody dispossession of it.
The British built Australia on their land 250 years ago and we remain tied to that Crown. Indigenous Australians have been here for 65,000 years and our short history has shown they haven’t been listened to.

Help yourselves Australia. We have had a problem for 250 years and it has never been Black. Indigenous People have had a Voice on previous occasions like ASTIC but it was removed. Ripped away by the Howards and Abbott’s. It’s time to change direction and “Fix It”! Cuban Global Voulteers came to teach and be health workers in remote Indigenous communities and were shocked with what they saw the worst living conditions of any people ever seen on the planet. White Pride and privilege is Australia’s Shame and Dutton simply says what’s been said for 10 generations by white colonisers “There’s really no problem other than that of their own making and it’s a “lifestyle choice.” Listen to Jacinta Price she’s “their (my) voice.

Voting ‘no’ is essentially a vote to not change anything because there might be something we didn’t think about that happens down the track. As countless people, including the former Spanish Football President have found out to their cost – no means no – there are no excuses. Your ‘no’ vote is the same as Dutton’s, Price’s or Mundine’s – regardless of how you try to justify it to yourself or others. And if you don’t know – do the research. Here’s a link to help you start.

Not All Media Titans Were as Dastardly as Rupert Murdoch | The Smirking Chimp

Murdoch’s employees, like Andrew Bolt, are scared to walk the streets of their own hometowns. His wife lost the plot when their eldest son was outed in the press for working at the IPA. Their daughter was sent overseas. Does anyone even know where or what their youngest is doing? Yet Bolt used his home as his office and condemned his family to the psychological stresses of his paranoias.

Lachlan Murdoch has solved that issue. As Head of Fox News and News Corp New York he runs his office from Sydney and lives here and not in the USA. Andrew Bolt gives the impression he hates Australia and even fled elsewhere to holiday. His preferred destination is Holland. He fled from Malvern to the conservative Mornington Peninsula but I’m sure he’s still uncomfortable. He’d rather be running his mouth offshore living on a barge in Amsterdam. His never-photographed wife Sally and kids would rather have had a less secret existence. So why did Andrew Bolt put his family under such a psychological hammer? His ego and counterfeit syndrome of being found out who he truly is demand he remain disingenuous and the Murdochs pander to personalities like Bolt who are merely invisible ghosts behind a curtain.

What can we now expect from Rupert Murdoch’s successor, his son Lachlan? Don’t hold your breath waiting for Murdock 2.0 to take his family media colossus down a path any less plutocratic. Lachlan doesn’t have much E. W. Scripps in him. Back in 2019, he spent $150 million on an 11-acre estate in L.A. At that time, Lachlan’s new home rated as the second-most expensive U.S. mansion ever purchased.

Instead of embracing real pro-democracy journalism and consistently warning the American people about the proven dangers of Donald Trump and the larger neofascist movement, the country’s news media continues to normalize him. The most recent prominent example of this type of media malpractice is NBC’s decision to give the ex-president a platform on last Sunday’s edition of the venerable TV news program “Meet the Press.”

President Biden has said “the world faces the biggest risk of nuclear Armageddon since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.” The context of Biden’s statement came a month earlier on September 21, 2022, when Putin warned the West he was not bluffing when he said he would be ready to use nuclear weapons to defend Russia against what he said was “nuclear blackmail.” Earlier, in an April 21, 2021, speech, Putin said:

We really do not want to burn bridges. But if someone mistakes our good intentions for indifference or weakness and intends to burn or even blow up these bridges, they must know that Russia’s response will be asymmetrical, swift, and tough. Those behind provocations that threaten the core interests of our security will regret what they have done in a way they have not regretted anything for a long time.

Lachlan Murdoch “considerably more brutal” than his father

Why is he voting No in Australia? This just might be a clue

Lachlan believes in the reality of “systems” agreeing with Tucker Carlson’s “great replacement theory”. Which makes him more Hansonite and fiercely anti- Multiculturalist. But when it comes to Indigenous Australians who can’t be deported from their land, and can’t be “sterilised”, as proposed by Lang Hancock Gina’s land-grabbing father, he claims like Dutton and the No campaign there is no “systemic racism in Australia”.  Only a Woke lack of acceptance and antipathy to be allowed to complete a process of unfinished re-education or Assimilation. Which has continuously failed for 250 years or should we be clearer for 50 years since the 1969 referendum recognizing Australia’s First People.

In fact, if it’s not racist, why does it sound so very pro-Chinese leaning toward their necessary process of the re-education of the ethnic Uyghurs? Or so Russian where Siberia is a place elected for the special psychiatric re-education of any individual opposition to Putin. Murdoch like Dutton like all No campaigners is all over the shop encouraging neo-Nazis to come out and openly walk our streets at the behest of the No campaign.

He has also defended Tucker Carlson’s airing of the “great replacement theory,” a conspiracy theory that falsely alleges that white people are intentionally and systematically being replaced by immigrants, and continuously argued that Fox News’s coverage is both balanced and fair.

The Era of Rupert Murdoch, a Blight on our Heating Planet and a Fomenter of War and Racial Hatreds, is Passing

Murdoch allegedly believed that he could plead the First Amendment, which attests to a dismal level of knowledge about US law. The First Amendment protects individuals from the US government, it doesn’t give people carte blanche to destroy the reputations of others with malicious lies. And while courts seek a high bar for libel cases in the US because of the First Amendment pledge of free speech, unlike in the UK, they haven’t set them aside entirely, and there have been recent landmark libel cases. I’m only hoping that Dominion opened a floodgate, and that further suits against Fox are forthcoming. It is a cancer in the body politic, of deliberate lies, hatemongering and warmongering on behalf of big capital, and we desperately need to be cured of it as a nation.

Freedom of the press barons? – Pearls and Irritations

Newspaper and digital tablet on wooden table

Indigenous Australians are as divided by income and wealth as any group in Australia however, the fact is 1 in 2 First Nation Peoples live far, far, below the poverty line, which isn’t the case for Australians as a whole. They are represented as the lowest on every social metric. Price and Mundine are regarded as “coconuts” or “plastic “Koories” and not real Indigenous Australians as they aren’t part of the majority or 70%  nor do they accept the generation after generation of social trauma and the consequences passed down by colonialism that haven’t been resolved for 250 years. The fact, that Indigenous Australians weren’t even recognized as full citizens until 1969. And they still remain under the administration of an Aboriginal Affairs Department whose promises budgets, plans, and strategies have changed like the weather with minimal success.

Yes23 is a simple request to be listened to with the hope of more self-administration of social welfare and other issues decided “in the communities” by being allowed some input by the First Nation peoples themselves. To be allowed the self-respect that was never allowed to grow and develop.

Stan Grant Adam Goodes, Jacinta Price, and Warren Mundine might all be part of the middle-class professional minority but they too are divided in who they are speaking for. As are Noel Pearson Marcia Langton and Lidia Thorpe. The Upper class Indigenous are as politically divided as white people are but their divisions are better resolved among the First Nations Peoples themselves than the Colonial political system imposed on them by the white fella that’s failed them until now. The Voice and/or Treaty might reveal the complexity and political division among Indigenous Australians but The Uluru Statement and process that resulted in the request for a Voice is the majority and result of by Indigenous Australians themselves. That year of effort put in was dismissed by the Turnbull LNP without discussion politically pushed by Dutton’s far-right “Monkey Pod Room”, a far-right minority of Liberals and the National Party. Those who believe in ignoring and denying the reality and historical facts of colonialism and the reality of better outcomes of a Voice for Indigeneity given by most other Nations on the planet.

The ‘disinformation’ (read: lies and bullshit) being propagated about the indigenous Voice to Parliament by the Murdoch media, among others, harms our society. It promotes division, celebrates and cultivates ignorance and bigotry, oppresses a minority and diminishes us all. Why do we tolerate such behaviour?

Michael Brenner: Defeat – scheerpost.com

The focal shift from Russia in Europe to China in Asia is less a mechanism for coping with defeat than the pathological reaction of a country that, feeling a gnawing sense of diminishing prowess, can manage to do nothing more than try one final fling at proving to itself that it still has the right stuff – since living without that exalted sense of self is intolerable. What is deemed heterodox, and daring, in Washington these days is to argue that we should wrap up the Ukraine affair one way or another so that we might gird our loins for the truly historic contest with Beijing. The disconcerting truth that nobody of consequence in the country’s foreign policy establishment has denounced this hazardous turn toward war supports the proposition that deep emotions rather than reasoned thought are propelling us toward an avoidable, potentially catastrophic conflict.

A society represented by an entire political class that is not sobered by that prospect rightly can be judged as providing prime facie evidence of being collectively unhinged.

Israeli Export Ban Piled Economic Misery on Palestinians of Gaza, as Youths increase Emigration

Israel has imposed a partial siege on the Palestinian Gaza Strip since 2007, when a coup attempt against the elected Hamas government failed. UNCTAD estimates that the Israeli occupation costs the Palestinians of Gaza about $16.7 billion per decade, so by 2027 that would be $33.4 billion. The difference between a decent life and crawling on trash hills to find the wherewithal to live. Elements of the siege constitute war crimes. As for the exodus of Palestinian youth, that has been hailed as a goal of Israeli policy by right wing members of the Israeli parliament. Unfortunately, since Palestinians are kept stateless by Israel, they are not wanted in most countries, and those who leave often find a watery grave in the Mediterranean or end up undocumented and with blighted lives abroad.

” The No Camp is a Cesspit – The Fiberal Party of Australia – Lies & Misdemeanours | Facebook

Sordid, mendacious, riven with division — No camp is a cesspit. But it works

Winning and Losing isn’t the case here. What we are witnessing is Steve Bannon’s strategy of “flooding the zone with shit” for the purpose of fragmentation, division, and destruction of people’s lives and not serving, everyone a loser. Despite all the incontrovertible facts at the center of this “Our” story, no matter how clear a case the Yes23 makes, it will be highly likely that no single version of the truth according to the pollsters is ever going to be accepted.

We’re in an age of manufactured nihilism.

The issue for many people isn’t exactly a denial of truth as such. It’s more a growing weariness over the process of finding the truth at all. And that weariness leads more and more people to abandon the idea that the truth is knowable.

It’s  “manufactured” and a consequence of a deliberate strategy. It was perfectly distilled by Steve Bannon, the former head of Breitbart News and chief strategist for Donald Trump. “The Democrats don’t matter,” Bannon reportedly said in 2018. “The real opposition is the media. And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with shit.”

The No campaign doing just that and with x 10 the money being spent than by Yes23

Bannon articulated the zone-flooding philosophy well, but he did not invent it. In our time, it was pioneered by Vladimir Putin in post-Soviet Russia. Putin uses the media to engineer a fog of disinformation, producing just enough distrust to ensure that the public can never mobilize around a coherent narrative.(Vox 2020)

The cliché about disunity being death in politics sure doesn’t apply to the No campaign. It’s all over the place, and it’s winning.

Both major party leaders damaged by Voice Referendum

It’s so easy to jump onto the Trump Equivalence bandwagon saying there’s good and bad on both sides when there’s clearly not. There is a distinguishable difference between right and wrong and that’s conveniently thrown out the window. Equivalence and postured neutrality under the current circumstance opens a larger can of worms that declares past history that has led us to our present status quo is fine. It’s over so it’s better not to do anything.

However, doing nothing has proven to be a moral and ethical dilemma unless of course, you don’t believe in the recognition of equality or Universal Human Rights. However, Peter Dutton maintains he does, but just not right now. So why not now Mr Dutton if this referendum is simply a moral and ethical issue more than just a political or technical one? Any second referendum could be held whenever true Rights and equality were believed achieved, and there was no longer any need for an Indigenous Voice. However, the data to data says otherwise. There is a need and it’s urgent. Listening to a Voice should be guaranteed for all most downtrodden in our Democracy at all times and written into our Constitution shouldn’t it?

It seems the party of Robert Menzies has lost its soul. Were he alive, the liberal Ming would no longer recognise the party that carries the liberal name but has morphed into a rabble consisting, with a few notable exceptions, of MAGA Trumpers, self-serving property owners and aspiring rich listers, and religious zealots at the loopy end of U.S.-style Christian evangelism.

Let’s set the record straight, please. Slavery and people trafficking was fine according to British thinking in the day. A Christian, God-given right and quite justifiable. So why does Jacinta Price for a moment think that Indigenous Australia was an exception to that belief? The thought that Indigenous blacks in Australia were considered differently to those elsewhere and benefited from colonisation?

Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price’s comment that: … she did not believe there are any ongoing impacts of colonisation, but in some cases, a “positive impact”. … begs to be disputed. There is zero positivity in the planned extermination of the world’s oldest culture. But that was the plan. However, in fairness to Senator Price she,…

Children were taken away under government policies of protection and assimilation aimed at having indigenous people adopt European culture and behaviour to the exclusion of their family and background. The assimilation policy presumed that, over time, indigenous people would die out or be so mixed with the European population they became indistinguishable (The Path to Reconciliation, 1997, p 24).

Yes, I would argue that the total extermination of Australia’s Indigenous people was deliberately intended. If not by the bullet, then by the policies of those governments that saw them as a stain on white purity. God favoured the white man and they set out to do His work.

Soaring corporate profits fuel inflation, shrink wages

inflation

How is it that Peter Dutton says “It’s a Labor and a Union fault” and Albanese doesn’t. But then at the same time, he doesn’t address it? Corporate profits are rising in the sector that’s been pointed out to be the biggest of our tax evaders, the biggest thieves of workers’ wages and superannuation, the biggest scammers of government-provided services, the biggest employers of casualized and temporary imported labor, and the biggest investors in AI technologies to reduce labor altogether yet as Fels and every data collector tells is raising prices?

When the political center has drifted so far right of center any moderate left-wing opposition gets to be labeled extreme left allowing for indecision and nothing done. Albanese’s small target tactics in his first term doesn’t bode well for a more progressive second.

Corporate profits have continued to soar, driving inflation while effectively reducing workers’ wages.

The findings from the Australia Institute’s Centre for Future Work found salaries have not kept up with inflation as companies mark up prices and record sky-high revenues.

The evidence “couldn’t be any clearer”, the centre’s director Jim Stanford said.

Corporate profits will need to take a hit.

No Celebration will come from voting No

Australians have been able to witness the voter remorse that can arise when a nation votes on a specific question of policy in a referendum that has the potential to set their country on a new course. Referendum questions with that level of significance don’t come along very often for democratic nations but when they do the cost of getting them wrong can be far bigger than we might expect.

In winter 2022, at a hideaway in St Barts, Rupert Murdoch directed “sudden fury” at Donald Trump, who he thought would lose the 2024 Republican presidential primary to Ron DeSantis, but who the media mogul also said was likely to cost him “fifty million dollars”, through a lawsuit regarding Trump’s lies about the 2020 election.

The lawsuit was filed by Dominion Voting Systems, over Fox News’s broadcast of Trump’s lies. Settled this April, it cost Murdoch considerably more than he predicted: $787.5m, to be precise.

Wolff’s new reporting may cause further embarrassment for Murdoch and Fox News.

Fighting the Diaspora: India’s Campaign Against Khalistan – » The Australian Independent Media Network

One such event might be questionable but several starts to be as suspicious as Russian Oligarchs accidentally falling out of hospital windows. PM Modi has a noted history when it comes to the blood spilled by Hindu Nationalists.

Of late, that lack of conspicuousness has been challenged. On September 18, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau revealed that there were “credible allegations” that agents in the pay of the Indian government had murdered Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a vocal supporter for an independent Sikh homeland known as Khalistan and deemed by Indian authorities since 2020 to be a terrorist. He was alone in his truck when he was shot to death on June 18 outside the Surrey temple, Guru Nanak Gurdwara.

The Indian response was predictably sharp, with New Delhi also expelling a “senior Canadian diplomat,” asking the individual to leave within five days. Prior to that, the Canadian high commissioner to India, Cameron MacKay, was summoned for a bit of an ear-bashing, while the Indian Ministry of External Affairs expressed the “Government of India’s growing concern at the interference of Canadian diplomats in our internal matters and their involvement in anti-India activities.”

Trumpworld Lawyers Keep Getting Stiffed on Fees – Mother Jones

They still line up to do his work in hope

On Tuesday, Rudy Giuliani’s lawyer, Robert Costello, sued the former New York mayor for more than $1.3 million in allegedly unpaid legal fees dating back to 2019. That lawsuit, Costello says, is a consequence of Trump’s own refusal to pay Giuliani for years of work as Trump’s personal attorney.

Costello, whose biography touts his 40-plus year of litigation experience, told me Tuesday that Bannon was the first client “I’ve ever had to sue for fees.” Giuliani was the second.

Bannon and a Trump spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment.

Lawyers for Trump have landed in legal jeopardy due to his lies. They’ve been forced to testify against him, sanctioned, fined, stripped of law licenses, sued, and indicted.
