In the International Court of Justice in The Hague, South Africa has filed suit against Israel for committing genocide in Gaza in violation of the 1948 Genocide Convention. Charges of genocide by South Africa include documentation of Israel’s killing of thousands of women and children, destruction of homes, denial to a population of water, food, power and medical supplies, the expulsion and displacement of citizens of Gaza.

The defeat of the Voice to Parliament was a dark moment in Australian politics.
This loss cannot, of course, be attributed to the actions of News Corp alone. However, given the findings of this report, it also cannot be denied that Australia’s most powerful media company effectively functioned as part of the ‘No’ campaign, playing a significant and singular role.

The Religious ‘Justification’: Zionist Jews, like the ones now in power in Israel, claim God gave them the land they now occupy. They cite Deuteronomy. But given the way they treat Arabs, they ignore the fact that, according to Deuteronomy, it was a two-part ‘deal’. By their oppression of the Arab population, Israel’s leaders push aside the condition God is said to have imposed on their “inheritance”. It was an “only if”.

In June 1967 Israel annexed the “West Bank” (of the Jordan) and Gaza by first attacking and destroying the Egyptian and Syrian armies in a surprise attack. Israeli leaders claimed Egypt was about to attack Israel, but former Israeli President Menachem later admitted publicly that this was a lie. In a speech he gave in Washington, DC, on August 8, 1982 he said:
“In June 1967, we again had a choice. The Egyptian Army concentrations in the Sinai approaches do not prove that Nasser was really about to attack us. We must be honest with ourselves. We decided to attack him.”
The extremists now heading the Israeli government have made no secret of their plans to move even more forcefully against the Palestinians. It was and is a powder keg that has now exploded.

The reverse makes greater sense the West USA, UK, and Australia should open their doors to Israeli asylum seekers and watch the outflow of victims of Israel’s Orwellian world be liberated from the oppression their government forces them to exert on others. Israeli youth have been brutalizing women and children shooting and breaking the bones of Palestinian men daily for years. If they don’t kill they break the bones and spirit of a people who once shared their land with this newly-armed and dominant minority of historic refugees called Israelis.
At a meeting of his Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) faction in the Knesset on Jan. 1, Ben Gvir called for “encouraging the migration of the residents of Gaza” as the “correct, just, moral, and humane solution,” and echoed Smotrich’s call to reestablish Jewish settlements in the Strip. This comes after two Knesset members from Netanyahu’s Likud party published an article in the Wall Street Journal in November titled “The West Should Welcome Gaza Refugees.”
Israel has a history of crossing borders to kill people it brands its enemies and creates what it wants to destroy. The reverse has been proved time and again not to be the case. Palestinians don’t have a history of invasion like Israel’s
The problem, of course, is that while this dance of death between Israelis and Palestinians continues to unfold, the US has demonstrated that it too hasn’t learned any lessons.

No free speech at Harvard the Creme del a Creme of Private Institutions in the US shows the very notion of education in America has been severely diminished. Norman Finkelstein has shown for years that there has been a war of influence ongoing among America’s wealthy Jewish donors. Many of them have unwittingly been promoting the very antisemitism they claim to be battling
I can understand the frustrations of these donors. But to use their influence to force the ouster of these university presidents is an abuse of power
Yet not until now have major donors so brazenly used their financial influence to hound presidents out of office for failing to come out as clearly as the donors would like on an issue of campus speech or expression.
As a Jew, I also cannot help but worry that the actions of these donors – many of them Jewish, many from Wall Street – could fuel the very antisemitism they claim to oppose, based on the age-old stereotype of wealthy Jewish bankers controlling the world.
Biden is right to campaign on the threat Trump represents. Just don’t think his base sticks with him because they don’t understand that threat. They understand. Maybe better than anyone else.

The Israeli newspaper Arab 48 reports that the Supreme Court voted 8 to 7 to reaffirm its prerogative of judicial review based on the country’s Basic Laws enacted by parliament, giving the Court the authority to strike down the July 24, 2023, law passed by the extremist parliament. The latter had removed the Court’s ability to interfere in cabinet decisions and appointments on the basis of what is called “the reasonableness doctrine,” which is rooted in British common law.

Beirut: Senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri was killed on Tuesday night in an Israeli drone strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs of Dahiyeh, a stronghold of allied Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, three security sources told Reuters.
In response to questions from Reuters, the Israeli military said it does not respond to reports in the foreign media.
Mark Regev, an adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told MSNBC that Israel had not taken responsibility for this attack, but “whoever did it, it must be clear: That this was not an attack an attack on the Lebanese state”.
“Whoever did this did a surgical strike against the Hamas leadership,” Regev told MSNBC.
Israel, under a Cone of Silence, is in a State of Denial following the Putin method of assassination. I admit I could be wrong and Putin, ex-KGB, follows the path of Mossad.
An anonymous US defense official told The Washington Post that Israel, which doesn’t typically comment on its assassination operations abroad, was responsible for a strike targeting al-Arouri “and that an assessment” of “whether he had been killed” was ongoing.
Mark Regev, foreign media spokesperson for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stumbled over his words during an interview with the US broadcaster MSNBC, seeking to avoid Israel claiming responsibility while at the same time defending it as an attack on Hamas and not on Hizballah or the Lebanese state.

At the end of this war, Israel will find itself in a worse situation than when the war began. Israel has become a pariah state.
If Labor fails at the next election – particularly to a politician such as Peter Dutton – there will be little point in Labor arguing that the times were against us. Labor will have – already has – squandered its time and its opportunities. It needs leadership of guts and vision, not timidity, caution and mortal terror of offending anyone.

Cabinet, won over with no evident demurral, and previously buttered up by oral reports, approved the measure to commit Australia to another failed military mission of murderous, bungling incompetence. The United States would receive no resistance in getting its pound of Australian flesh for an illegal enterprise, and the Australian public, many of whom had participated in some of the largest anti-war demonstrations the country had ever seen, would be ignored.
Meanwhile, the U.S. mainstream media is so far silent on Pilger’s passing. The New York Times on Monday ran an obit on the comedian Shecky Greene but not a word on Pilger, who wrote several opinion pieces for the Times.
