President Donald Trump on Friday launched yet another attack on Fox News, continuing to turn on the network that once appeared to be his favorite, this time over a poll that showed him lagging behind former Vice President Joe Biden.
The national survey, conducted by the outlet in conjunction with a bipartisan team of pollsters and discussed on “Fox & Friends,” indicated that Biden is leading the pack of Democratic 2020 hopefuls and, in a head-to-head matchup with the president, is ahead by 10 points.

As trees grow, they absorb and store the carbon dioxide emissions that are driving global heating. New research estimates that a worldwide planting programme could remove two-thirds of all the emissions that have been pumped into the atmosphere by human activities, a figure the scientists describe as “mind-blowing”.
An investigation by The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and 60 Minutes can reveal that a criminal syndicate known as “The Company” used Crown-linked bank accounts and high-roller rooms to launder its funds, with Crown licensing and paying syndicate members to generate turnover in its Melbourne and Perth casinos.
Amazingly, coverage of the deniers’ messages has risen over the past five years as the climate crisis has worsened, with much of it being uncritical,” Allison Fisher, outreach program director for Public Citizen’s climate program, said Thursday. “The media should not give these organizations a platform, and if they must cover them, do a better job of alerting readers and viewers who is funding them.”
Trump keeps trying to hypnotize people by saying “No collusion, no obstruction,” and saying that Mueller exonerated him. Since so few Americans and so few in Congress will actually read the Mueller report, he thinks he can get away with the Big Lie.
Mueller explicitly denied yesterday that he had exonerated Trump. So that’s a Trump lie.
The Mueller report contains ample evidence that Trump attempted to obstruct the Mueller investigation. In fact, we know that Trump tried as hard as he could to simply fire Mueller for the purpose of obstructing the Mueller report.

The head of the U.S. Border Patrol said Wednesday that she joined a Facebook group whose members mocked migrants and lawmakers so she could read what her personnel thought about her, and said she knew little about the group.
Chief Carla Provost said during a congressional subcommittee hearing in Washington that she logged on to Facebook very rarely and that she immediately reported her membership in the group to an oversight division of U.S. Customs and Border Protection after she realized she was a member.

How can you distil the raw meat of a conversation? Not all of the following words were said, some were implied, but they are certainly all of the words of the story and of the message that I heard, and they get down to the nub of it all … those with the muskets didn’t listen to us then, they shot and they poisoned and they killed us as they grabbed our land, and they still aren’t listening to us now, and they still carry their musket of suppression with pride.

If Boris Johnson is the answer, what was the question? To the 92,153 party members who voted for him, the new Conservative leader offers a remedy to two ailments: persistent membership of the EU and shrunken Tory popularity. Applying generous doses of Boris-branded tonic is meant to clear up both problems at once.
If you’re trying to “have a go” in order to put food on the table, don’t expect to “get a go” from this Coalition Government, writes executive editor Michelle Pini.

And according to the PM, who has actively opposed any suggestion of an increase to the Newstart payment,
“They [Newstart recipients] don’t just live on Newstart alone.”
That’s right! Lucky Newstart recipients also get an “energy supplement” of $4.40 a week!
This, of course, would not buy the lucky ducks dinner at Heston Blumenthal‘s Fat Duck pop-up in Melbourne, where the starting cost per person (excluding wine) was $525 back in 2015. Blumenthal, incidentally, has also struggled to pay his workers according to the law. But this extra government “assistance”, in fact, doesn’t even cover the cost of a weekly Happy Meal, which is currently $5.30.
Let them eat cake, eh, Mr Morrison? Well, probably not cake served in any establishment of the abovementioned restaurateurs.
Newstart is below the poverty line. That is all anyone with a heart or a full stomach needs to know.
If you’re just trying to “have a go” in order to put food on the table, however, don’t expect to be getting a go from this Coalition Government.
Let us be clear: as Australian domestic and export emissions head to 14-17 per cent of world emissions, we have a responsibility for many deaths from heatwaves, floods, storms and drought. Doctors regard Adani as a health issue and so will every other country.
Clearly, if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, all nations will need to share action and the recalcitrant ones will be targeted by those doing their humanitarian duty.
On being arrested, Clément said:
“That is very strange. It’s like they have something to hide, right? Because if you arrest a journalist and then you say to the journalist that he has to keep away from Adani’s sites, what’s happening on these sites?”
He may well ask the Queensland and Federal Governments what is happening. The approval processes allowing this mine are likely to become an educative international example of how not to manage the environmental, health, economic and industry needs of resource development.
In this media-fabricated ecosystem, agency can only find its purpose and meaning in the coordinates of hate and anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies. Under Trump, reality has become a toxic melodrama played out through a relentless display of hypermasculinity, ultranationalism and a culture of utter cruelty that accelerates the death of the unwanted.
White nationalism is now being delivered nationally via emotional taunts parading as spectacle, entertainment and manufactured drama. The making of politics as theater opens up a new connection between contemporary fascist politics and a fascist past. Ilhan Omar was right in calling Trump a fascist.

The hand signal the NZ Christchurch killer used in court is the same as Trump’s.
The hand gesture, often accompanied by a smirk, is associated with white power groups. The middle, ring and pinky fingers is said to represent a ‘W’ (white) and the thumb and forefinger come together to represent a ‘P’ (power).

Trump this morning during his speech at Turning Point USA’s Teen Student Action Summit, a far-right group. Apparently signalling to his Aryan brothers that it’s open season on the young congresswoman, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Or maybe it’s just nothing at all. I don’t know. I’m not a White Supremacist with a grudge against brown people and ethnic minorities. You be the judge.

Conclusion: Warren as Corporate Compromise Candidate
The point of the respective treatment of Warren and Bernie here seems clear enough. The corporate elite have seen that the energy in the Democratic party is in the populist wing. They have thus chosen a compromise candidate: one who is populist enough to excite the base but who will ‘play ball’. Senator Warren is also a woman, so identity politics becomes a viable weapon against her detractors.
To end, I reiterate that this is not a critique of the Senator herself; she is merely running her campaign for the nomination. It is the media who are to blame here, cynically manipulating her campaign in an effort to bring down Bernie Sanders.

Moreover, ADF Chief Angus Campbell has warned in a private speech that an ascendant China could potentially occupy islands in the Pacific following a massive exodus from the region should the harmful effects of climate change continue unabated.
Yes, our total carbon (CO2) emissions is a small percentage, but per capita, we are one of the largest emitters in the world. As Australians, we pride ourselves for punching above our weight internationally. Our armed forces are admired and respected, our diplomats are influential and respected by states bigger than our own.
Surely, we can punch above our weight against climate change too. Or at the very least, not continue to fall behind the pack.
This is not progressive “green” politics. This is about national security. This is actually protecting the borders. This is about the future and longevity of Australia and our place in the south Pacific.
To realise his true goals, Cottrell never needed a conviction overturned. He needs the people to quite literally tear down any court system that would issue that kind of conviction in the first place. And then, to erect an authoritarian state construct in its place.
Cottrell’s star has waned but he is a persistent and nagging presence who still possesses a talent for grabbing the headlines, so it’s important we remember exactly what he is. Ignore the ongoing “freedom of speech” charade entirely.
Heed instead the words of the man that threatened:
‘Don’t tell me to be careful about what I say.’

In his recent book, Dr. Dmitry Shumsky shows that, contrary to popular belief, the forefathers of Zionism did not envision a state based on Jewish supremacy. And yet Zionism, he says, inevitably involves the oppression of Palestinians.
With extensive quotes by Zionism’s forefathers — Leon Pinsker, Ahad Ha’am, Theodore Herzl, Ze’ev Jabotinsy and David Ben-Gurion — he shows that over the course of Zionism’s first five decades, from the late 19th century until the early 20th century, the movement didn’t aim for establishing a “nation-state” the way it is commonly understood today, and as is reflected in the Jewish Nation-State Law. According to Shumsky, the Zionist leaders envisioned the Jewish state as a multi-national one, or even as an entity within a larger framework, similar to the federalist structure in the United States.
