Human Rights in Prolonged Occupation: Israel’s Treatment of Palestinians (HRW)

You won’t hear any of this in Australia’s MSM or hear the L-NP even raise it for discussion. Israel has spied and probably still does on Australia. It has kidnapped not extradited people from Australia. Mossad has used false Australian documentation to cover assassinations in other countries yet our government supports them blindly. Their ex-PM Netanyahu and his wife were caught and are facing bribery charges and Morrison’s response is ” No Nations are perfect”. His claim is “equivalence” like Trump at Charlottsville  when the extreme-right murdered a woman ” It’s Ok because everybody does it”. The truth is he doesn’t! He’s soley accuses China but not Israel? Morrison is purely politically focused on himself. It’s patently clear he needs an enemy as a distraction for the up and coming election so why not ISRAEL??

This memorandum provides an overview of several of Human Rights Watch’s central concerns with respect to the Israeli government’s human rights practices in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Committee in advance of its review of Israel in March 2022. This submission, which draws on years of research and documentation by Human Rights Watch, covers freedom of movement, the right to due process and humane treatment, freedom of peaceful assembly, association and expression, residency rights, and right to equality before law. We hope it will inform the Human Rights Committee’s assessment of the Israeli government’s compliance with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

Apartheid 2.0: Amnesty International Joins Chorus condemning Israeli rule over stateless Palestinians

The Israeli state has won the trifecta of condemnation by major human rights organizations, as, on Tuesday, Amnesty International joined with Human Rights Watch and B’Tselem in calling Israeli rule over the 5 million Palestinians of the Occupied Palestinian Territories a form of Apartheid.

It’s Undeniable: Israel Is an Apartheid State

A new Amnesty International report terms Israel an apartheid state. Israel’s defenders have replied by smearing the authors — but there’s no denying that this is a state built on the systematic brutalization of Palestinians.

In Parable for Occupation, Autopsy Shows Israeli Troops mistreated American on West Bank, leading to his Death

Why is this only Fringe News?

Last week was another in a long line of public relations disasters for the Israeli state, as its unacceptable military occupation of millions of stateless Palestinians continues. It isn’t just that the Palestinians are deprived by Israel of basic human rights. Israeli policy is to strip from them in piecemeal fashion their land, property, dignity and identity.

This isn’t in any way new!

The Israeli cabinet approved on Sunday a project that could inject up to NIS 100 million [$30 million] toward covertly funding government propaganda in the United States and other Western countries. Led by Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, the initiative is expected to revive a failed plan entrusted until recently to the now-defunct Strategic Affairs Ministry, which closed in 2021. The plan is to transfer money indirectly to foreign organizations that will spread Israeli propaganda in the countries in which they operate, all while hiding the fact that they are backed by the Israeli government.

When Israel Kills an American, Washington calls for “Investigation;” Hundreds of Palestinians? Not so Much

The establishment and foundations laid for the creation of Israel’s Fake News

Last week, 80-year-old Palestinian-American Omar Asad was kidnapped, tied up, and apparently tortured by Israeli army thugs in the West Bank. He was found dead soon after. It’s the kind of brutality habitually imposed upon Palestinians by the illegitimate Zionist regime to maintain a “pure” Jewish state in historical Palestine. But because Assad held a US passport, his case generated ever so slightly more attention over there than usual. The US State Department and several US lawmakers called for Israel to “investigate” itself over the apparent killing. This is worse than pointless.

Leaked Report Suggests Impunity for IDF Troops in Deadly Stop of Palestinian-American Elder

Omar Assad

IDF kills another American and it’s asked to investigate itself.

“This is a policy: Israel does not prosecute those responsible for harming Palestinians, thus making their lives miserable,” said the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem.

After Rachel Corrie, an American activist volunteering with the International Solidarity Movement, was crushed to death by an IDF armored bulldozer while defending Palestinian homes in occupied Gaza in 2003, Dan Shapiro, the U.S. ambassador at the time, expressed his dissatisfaction with Israel’s investigation of the incident. Attempts by Corrie’s family to hold Israel accountable for the woman’s death ultimately proved futile.

How Israel’s ‘Facebook Law’ plans to control all Palestinian content online

Some analysts argued that Netanyahu had feared that a law aimed at suppressing Palestinian freedom of speech online could be exploited by his enemies to control his own speech and incitement. Now that Netanyahu is no longer in the picture, the bill is back, and so is Sa’ar. Gideon Sa’ar is currently Israel’s justice minister and deputy prime minister. While his boss, Naftali Bennett, is moving rapidly to expand settlements and to worsen already horrific realities for Palestinians on the ground, Sa’ar is expanding the Israeli military occupation of Palestinians to the digital realm. What is known as the ‘Facebook Law’ is set to grant “Israeli courts the power to demand the removal of user-generated content on social media content platforms that can be perceived as inflammatory or as harming ‘the security of the state,’ or the security of people or the security of the public.”

Pegasus Used Against Activist Women in Middle East

An Israeli woman uses her iPhone in front of the building housing the Israeli NSO group, on August 28, 2016, in Herzliya, near Tel Aviv. - Apple iPhone owners, earlier in the week, were urged to install a quickly released security update after a sophisticated attack on an Emirati dissident exposed vulnerabilities targeted by cyber arms dealers.Lookout and Citizen Lab worked with Apple on an iOS patch to defend against what was called "Trident" because of its triad of attack methods, the researchers said in a joint blog post.Trident is used in spyware referred to as Pegasus, which a Citizen Lab investigation showed was made by an Israel-based organization called NSO Group. (Photo by JACK GUEZ / AFP) (Photo by JACK GUEZ/AFP via Getty Images)

Israel wants a “closer relationship” with Australia’s defense. It already has a very close relationship unbeknown to many nations that have purchased Pegasus spyware. Mossad operates freely amongst friends and enemies alike assassinating, kidnapping spying and influencing everyone in it’s favour and shares very little of it’s own secrets. Mainstream medias are very much propagandist for Israel. Murdoch media has always promoted positive news about the nation. After all Murdoch is heavily invested in Genie Oil in the occupied Syrian territories of the Golan Heights.

Andrew Bolt with his close family connections to Aalsmere the notorious historic pro Nazi town of WW2 is today a grand, loud but questionable supporter of the right-wing apartheid State. More so than even the Jewish diaspora that is increasinly ashamed. Israel is today the proud ally and supplier of military hardware and spyware to many of the worlds dictators in the Middle East, Africa and has a history of involvement in maintaining a division among any formation of a pan Arabic state.

Dozens of women journalists and human rights defenders in Bahrain and Jordan have had their phones hacked using NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware, according to a report by Front Line Defenders and Access Now. The report adds to a growing public record of Pegasus misuse globally, including against dissidents, reporters, diplomats, and members of the clergy. It also threatens to increase pressure on the Israel-based NSO Group, which in November was placed on a U.S. trade blacklist.

Israeli army spokesperson Amnon Shefler said the incident would be investigated “in a thorough and professional manner.”

Israel’s Response to Human Rights NGOs’ finding that it practices Apartheid has been to Shoot the Messenger

( See also: Democracy Now! ““It Is Apartheid”: Rights Group B’Tselem on How Israel Advances Jewish Supremacy Over Palestinians” ) The International Criminal Court has determined that Israel has committed war crimes, and the UN Human Rights Council’s open-ended Commission of Inquiry will also be looking at such crimes committed by the settler-colonial state. Israeli rhetoric treats both as intrusions in its domestic affairs completely dissociated from its violations of international law. The state and its apologists simplify the slightest semblance of justice as an anti-Israel campaign instigated by the Palestinian people. When B’Tselem spoke, the world listened, even if only briefly. Next up was Human Rights Watch in April last year when its report, “A Threshold Crossed” pointed out that, “Israeli authorities are committing the crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution.”

A most moral violence

Where no moral justification exists but where it is manufactured. Israel’s Shame. Israel supports despotic regimes like Saudi Arabia supplying them with the spyware and logistics that saw the assasination Jamal Kashoggi and bombing of Yemen. It supplies and suoports African despots in their most immoral violence.

Two complementary projects lie at the heart of the status quo: Israel’s military control over nearly five million Palestinians in the occupied territories, and the gradual colonization of the West Bank. Technically, Israel views the West Bank as “disputed” rather than occupied, and, since the 2005 disengagement, Israelis no longer believe Gaza to be under Israeli occupation. Yet in practice, the Israeli military controls both.

How do you shrink colonialism? – +972 Magazine

Israeli soldiers guard thousands of settler youth as they march near the outpost of Homesh following the murder of a settler by Palestinians, West Bank, December 23, 2021. (Oren Ziv)

It is a reality of settler pogroms, Palestinian resistance, and retributive attacks. It is a reality in which the radical wing of the settler movement has the backing of the most powerful military in the region to violently clear Palestinians off their land, while the settler elite enjoys infrastructure projects that allow Israel to continue swallowing the West Bank piecemeal without ever having to declare “annexation” as state policy. It is, at the bottom of it all, the story of Israel’s incomplete colonial project — from the South Hebron Hills to the Naqab/Negev to Jerusalem to Gaza. As much as Israeli leaders may say they are tired of “the conflict,” what they really seek is to minimize Palestinian resistance in all its forms, and to shrink any attention to Israel’s ever-expanding ambitions.

‘Very interested’: Israel eyes closer spy network with Australia

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid says Israel wants a closer security relationship with Australia.

Problem is Israel doesn’t have a history of “sharing” it does have a history of “spying ” on it’s allies and transactional arrangements in its interests. It has kidnapped people from this country used imprisoned and killed Australians and has carried out its spying activities in other coutntries using false documents pointing to Australia. Of course it’s “Very Interested” in a closer network with Australia, It’s an opportunity for trade and further spying “on” us and not “with” us. We have just formed AUKUS and opened up to wider activities and Israel has jumped at it. “Beware of the Trojan horse” should go down in history as ” Beware of an Israeli Handshake” Meanwhile spyware is on sale to friends of Israel my ass spyware is on sale to anybody ready to pay. Simply look at the military equipment Israel has sold to African, Middle East and world dictatorships.

Mr Lapid said striking a free trade agreement with Australia was also a priority which would “expand trade and help create jobs in both our countries”, and floated the prospect of direct flights between the two countries.

‘The system is defending police shooters instead of putting them on trial’

Palestinians clash with Israeli police during a protest at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem Old City, June 17, 2021. (Jamal Awad/Flash90)

Less than a week after Israeli Border Police shot dead a Palestinian who had stabbed an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, the State Attorney’s Office decided last Thursday to close an internal investigation into the conduct of the officers. Footage of the incident showed Muhammad Salima, 25, carrying out the stabbing attack before being shot once by the nearby police officers. While Salima lay on the ground wounded and incapacitated, an officer circled around and fired two additional shots directly at him, killing Salima instantly. The Justice Ministry said that the investigation was shelved because “there was a real and tangible danger to the lives of the soldiers and civilians,” and as a result, “there was a legal justification for the use of [lethal] weapons.”

CNN erases West Bank and Gaza Strip | The Electronic Intifada

Map excluding West Bank and Gaza Strip

America’s MSM view of the Middle East, in this case CNN leaves Palestinian Gaza and the West Bank out of its picture of the Middle East as if the territories illegally occupied by Israel are legal. While the Golan Heights are shown here as Syrian territory CNN fails to mention Israel’s illegal occupation of it as well. Their’s is a totallt fake view of the region. Meanwhile, the Jewish Diaspora, the majority of Jews living outside of Israel, are fast becoming Anti- The Israel State. Israel may once have has claims to self defence but that fake claim was lost years ago when it became the primo aggressor and occupier in the region.

No such correction has been forthcoming from CNN or GPS, which raises the prospect that CNN’s cartographers do not recognize the reality of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory. Until corrected, the map seemingly portrays just one uninterrupted Israeli apartheid state. This is, of course, the political reality – one that makes more likely the struggle for equal rights in one state rather than Palestinian statehood in disconnected West Bank and Gaza bantustans.

Israeli Squatter-Settler Mobs attack Palestinian Hamlets, wrecking Cars and Homes and Hospitalizing 2

If being Anti-Israel means being Anti-Semitic then the Jewish Diaspora is fast becoming Anti-Semitic.

Trump goes on anti-Semitic rant, claims Israel controlled Congress and Jews run New York Times | Salon.com

Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu (Mark Wilson/Getty Images)

Trump loves Russia, Nth Korea, and so it’s no surprise he loves Israel. He is anti- Democratic and approves of autocratic rule and in particular their leaders. However, he doesn’t conflate Jews with Israel. Israel on the other hand conflates itself with Jews, even when they are increasingly becoming distanced from it. Lets face it Israel only has 30% of the worlds Jewish population. and 25% of Israelis aren’t Jews. So to call Trump anti-Semitic is simply to say he’s pro-Israel and that Israel is anti-Semitic as the worlds Jews are turning their backs on the State in increasing numbers. However, if the Western world and some Middle Eastern countries are largely pro-Israel and one considers that Jews against Israel are the real representatives of Judaism, it’s community and it’s spirit, then yes anyone “for Israel” is anti-Semitic.

Donald Trump said that the American Jews “no longer love Israel” in a recently aired interview, claiming that “evangelical Christians love Israel more than the Jews in this country.” “People in this country that are Jewish no longer love Israel,” Trump told Israeli journalist Barak Ravid in a Friday episode of podcast “Unholy: Two Jews on the news.” Trump continued: “I’ll tell you, the evangelical Christians love Israel more than the Jews in this country. It used to be that Israel had absolute power over Congress. And today I think it’s the exact opposite.”

No Steady Electricity, Little Potable Water – Palestinian Gaza under Israeli Occupation is a Place of Slow Death

An explosion in Gaza is inevitable, and Israel must shoulder its responsibility for its consequences for the simple reason that it is persisting in the slow death of two million Palestinians. Given the circumstances in which we find ourselves, therefore, I ask this: what if the Palestinian leadership forgot about the political division and decided to seize this historic moment and ignite resistance across all of occupied Palestine? If this was to happen, I am sure that it would be the beginning of the end for the Zionist enemy.

Why does the US turn a blind eye to Israel’s expansion of Squatter-Settlements on Palestinian Land?

Invasion Continues unabated

If the US does not care about settlement expansion, why would it be concerned about how the two-state paradigm is applied, considering that it is no longer viable and Israel is well on its path to de-facto annexation in any case? If the US and Israel are on the same page when it comes to preserving the Palestinian Authority and its compromised politics (and “sacred” security coordination with the occupation state), there is little difference in terms of the ultimate aim that Israel is aiming for, which is complete control over all Palestinian territory. The US certainly doesn’t seek an alternative reality, not when it is so heavily invested in Israel. It is only that Biden has publicly aligned himself with international consensus, while Israel has been publicly rejecting any political negotiation for a solution, which gives Gantz any reason to claim political divergence with Washington.

Spike in Violence in 2021 by Israeli Forces, Squatters, toward Palestinian Children: Defense for Children, UN’s Bachelet

Settler violence escalates when the world is distracted. The Israeli Panzer Division is its illegal settler invaders who rapidly advance, and illegally push forward to occupy Palestinian land killing, and terrorizing the rightful owners off their property which then Israel claims as their own.

This week, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet also addressed the issue of killed children: “On 5 November, a 15-year-old Palestinian boy was shot with live ammunition in the abdomen, and killed, by Israeli forces stationed about 50 meters away, during demonstrations in Deir Al-Hatab near the illegal Israeli settlement Elon Moreh. This year, Israeli forces have killed 16 children in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. These and all other killings, as well as all incidents of excessive and unwarranted use of lethal force by Israeli forces, must be thoroughly and effectively investigated, and those responsible held to account.” Bachelet further noted that Israeli squatters were responsible for 480 deaths, injuries, or significant property damage this year in attacks on Palestinians, “the highest incidence of settler violence ever recorded by the United Nations.” Not a day goes by, she observed, but that squatters attack Palestinians. She worries about the spiraling increase in violence, with “four Palestinians killed and 167 injured by settlers, including seven with live ammunition.”

Evangelical Politicians, using Israel as a Pretext, are Gutting the Constitution by Banning Boycotts

screen grab

BYE BYE- The Constitutional Separation of Powers between the Church and State. Fuck what America’s Jews want. Legislate Discrimination instead.

Israel has concluded a very unholy alliance with the American Evangelical Community, as support among progressive U.S. Jews for its settlement policies in the West Bank continues to wane. For this reason, in 2017, the Arkansas Senate passed Act 710, forbidding all “public entities from contracting with and investing in companies that boycott Israel.” Call me old-fashioned, but I miss that old Separation of Church and State principle. In Arkansas, legislation is now directly tied to the Second Coming. There is a painful irony to American Evangelical politicians using Zionism as a cudgel to exacerbate the political divide, and punish resistors. The act prohibits all state agencies, departments and contractors from doing business with any company that supports the Boycott-Divest-Sanction (BDS) movement.

Anti-BDS Laws Could Upend the Right to Engage in Boycott

Alan Leveritt, center, and staff members of the Arkansas Times meet at their office. The publication sued the state of Arkansas over its anti-BDS legislation. The case could end up before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Does the money Israel gets in Foreign Aid go to fund Anti-BDS Laws? ”

Anti-BDS legislation is not only unconstitutional, critics argue, but it also sets a dangerous precedent. Texas legislators have used the state’s anti-BDS law as a template to pass bills that keep businesses that boycott fossil fuels and firearms from securing state contracts. At least four other states have introduced similar legislation, the film notes. One scene in “Boycott” imagines the possibilities, showing the text of a bill changing from punishing support for BDS to other positions like “supporting Black Lives Matter” or “supporting Greenpeace.” “You may not care about Israel-Palestine,” Lara Friedman, president of the Foundation for Middle East Peace, says in the film. “But you should care if it’s being used as a hook to legislate in your state and at the federal level against free speech.”

74 Years ago, the UN General Assembly overstepped and stole the Palestinians’ Country from Them

The 1947 Partition Plan is a crucial point in understanding Israel’s constant aggressions and violations today. Even though resisting the incessant onslaught of Zionism bears a high cost from a human, social and economic point of view, the Palestinian people continue to resist bravely to protect their lands, history and culture. The world owes the Palestinian people a debt. Respect for rights and justice demands from the UN the realisation of an entirely sovereign and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its eternal and ecumenical capital, with the right of return for refugees, and with compensation and permanence of all on Palestinian land.

Israel begs world to keep paying its occupation bills | The Electronic Intifada

Relieving Israel of responsibilities Aid to the Palestinian Authority – which, on paper, is intended to serve as an interim body towards the establishment of a Palestinian state but in reality serves as a policing arm for Israel’s occupation – relieves Israel of its financial responsibilities towards Palestinians living under its occupation. Funds used before the signing of the Oslo accords in the 1990s to provide for the basic welfare of Palestinians living under occupation are available to Israel to fuel its settlement-building in the West Bank in violation of international law. According to Eldar, Israel’s spending on settlements “has increased fourfold” in the years since the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee was established. Zvi Bar’el, another Haaretz commentator, writes that “one could argue that every dollar given to the Palestinians freed up an Israeli dollar for investment in settlements.” And so Israel approved plans to build more than 3,000 new homes in West Bank settlements two weeks before the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee conference. And still, the same parties that micromanage aid to the Palestinian Authority impose no conditions on Israel, which continues to enjoy a seat a

Blacklisting the Merchants of Spyware – » The Australian Independent Media Network

Israel’s business in the free world and the free world’s up take.

In a modest effort to disrupt the global spyware market, the United States announced last week that four entities had been added to its blacklist. On November 3, the US Department of Commerce revealed that it would be adding Israel-based companies NSO Group and Candiru to its entity list “based on evidence that these entities developed and supplied spyware to foreign governments that used these tools to maliciously target government officials, journalists, businesspeople, activists, academics, and embassy workers.”

No Israeli government is likely to entirely abandon companies that make annual sales of $1 billion in the business of offensive cyber. The efforts by governments the world over to attack encrypted communications while trampling human rights on route have become unrelenting. In that quest, it matters little whether you are a citizen journalist, a master criminal, or a terrorist. Those deploying the spyware rarely make such distinctions.

Israeli officials are terrified — not of militant groups firing weapons, but of millions of Palestinians and allies who are exposing the truth about the state’s oppression. Those officials are right to be scared: it is thanks to the mobilization of grassroots and civil society forces that media outlets are challenging Israel’s NGO assault, and that politicians are pressuring their capitals to back their rhetoric with action. For all its hubris, Israel remains fearful that a day will come when government allies will call out the state’s policies for what they are: political persecution by an apartheid regime. With every act of chutzpah, Israel may be bringing that day closer.

Band of 30 militant Israeli Squatters attack Palestinian Farmers, Steal Olive Harvest in continued Sabotage that has seen 1 mn Olive Trees destroyed by Israelis since 1967

On Friday, some thirty militant Israeli squatters on Palestinian land in the West Bank attacked Palestinian farmers harvesting olives from their orchards at Salfit. At the same time the Israeli occupation army blocked other farmers from reaching their olive orchards near the large squatter settlement of Ariel, built on land stolen from Palestinian families. So reports al-Quds [Jerusalem] and the Associated Press. Fall is harvest time for Palestinian olive growers. Murad Ishtiwi, a Palestinian activist against the Israeli government project of settling squatters on other people’s private property, told al-Quds that the Occupation forces attempted to stop the farmers from the hamlet of Yasuf near Salfit when they sought to reach their land near to an Israeli squatter outpost. They were shocked that a large band of squatters from Rahalim, allegedly abetted by the Israeli army, attacked and beat the farmers, injuring four of them. The Israelis then made off with the olive harvest.

Sally Rooney Is Right to Boycott Israel

Rooney’s statement, published today, made that absolutely clear: The Hebrew-language translation rights to my new novel are still available, and if I can find a way to sell these rights that is compliant with the BDS movement’s institutional boycott guidelines, I will be very pleased and proud to do so. In the meantime I would like to express once again my solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, justice, and equality. Modan publishes books in partnership with the Israeli Ministry of Defense. It’s exactly the kind of firm that the BDS campaign had in mind when it called for a boycott of Israeli cultural institutions that are “complicit in maintaining the Israeli occupation and denial of basic Palestinian rights.” Rooney previously gave her support to the Pakistani-British novelist Kamila Shamsie when she rejected an offer to have her work published in Israel. The 2019 open letter in support of Shamsie, signed by Rooney and other writers including Arundhati Roy and J. M. Coetzee, came after the German city of Dortmund had stripped her of a literary prize because she endorsed the BDS campaign.

Israeli media attack journalist who exposed settler violence | The Electronic Intifada

The “Jewish Diaspora” is fast becoming a shrinking myth because Israel really isn’t representative of Jews living outside the State. Jews around the world are turning their backs on a State that no longer reflects the fundamental beliefs they were brought up with. Israel shames them  and it’s reflected in the propaganda put out by the Mainstream Media.

After masked settlers attacked a Palestinian community as soldiers looked on last month, the response in Israel has been to attack and silence the messenger.

Water Justice for Occupied Palestinians is demanded by UN, as Israeli Squatters Use 87% of Aquifers

The UNHCR director of field operations, Christian Salazar Volkmann, adds, “In addition, Israeli authorities treated the nearly 450,000 Israeli settlers and 2.7 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank (excluding East Jerusalem) under two distinct bodies of law. This resulted in unequal treatment on a range of issues, including access to water.” The Israeli squatters on land owned by Palestinian families are, in fact, water hogs. The draft report said, “as estimated in 2014, 87 percent of the mountain aquifer waters were used by Israelis and only 13 percent by Palestinians.” Aquifers are non-renewable underground water resources that are being drawn down, and I think it is clear who is drawing them down most rapidly.

Dozens of masked Israeli Black Shirts attack homes in small Palestinian Town, Injure Residents, including a Toddler

Palestinian rights organizations said that on Tuesday, 60 armed squatters with clubs and handguns and stones went berserk as they attacked the small town, with unprecedented ferocity. It began when twenty masked individuals attacked a shepherd and slaughtered several of his lambs in front of his eyes and those of his two children. Then dozens of masked squatters joined the first group of attackers, all of them carrying batons, and they started throwing stones at the houses and slashed the water pipes of house after house. They then invaded the homes and broke up whatever was in them and beating the people inside. Several residents were injured, one in the head. Eyewitnesses told the human rights organizations that Israeli occupation troops stood by behind the attackers the whole time without stopping them. Instead, they fired tear gas canisters and rubber bullets at the Palestinian residents.

After Palestinians Buried Their Martyrs, Western Media Buried Israel’s Crimes

Hammam Chott is famed in UK media as the Tunis cemetery where Jeremy Corbyn supposedly laid a wreath to terrorists. But “wreathgate” was a lie — and it erased the real crime that happened here on October 1, 1985, when Israeli jets murdered 60 people.

In Height of Hypocrisy, Nuclear-Armed Israeli PM Bennett slams Iran, which has no weapons or program, for “crossing all red Lines”

. Iran has a civilian nuclear enrichment program. It does not have a military nuclear weapons program. There isn’t a scintilla of evidence that Iran is attempting to produce nuclear weapons. There is evidence that it is demonstrating a capacity to go in that direction if it is severely threatened. This is called “nuclear latency” or the “Japan option,” and it is a form of deterrence. Israel, in contrast, defied President Kennedy and President Johnson, who wanted it to avoid proliferating nukes and wanted to avoid a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Helped behind the scenes by France and Britain, Israel made a nuclear weapon and by now has a stockpile of hundreds of them. That kicked off an Iraqi interest in nuclear weapons, though Baghdad’s program was never very advanced, which in turn helped draw the United States in the Iraq War. So Bennett accusing Iran of crossing red lines is the height of hypocrisy. Iran does not have a nuclear bomb. It isn’t even close. It doesn’t have a nuclear weapons program. Israel has hundreds of atom bombs. You really need a stronger word than hypocrisy.

Israeli Diplomat Pushed UNC to Remove Israel Critic Teacher

An Israeli consul general baselessly accused a graduate student of antisemitism and said she shouldn’t teach a course on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Welcome to an Israeli Book Burning

The intervention by an Israeli government official, Consul General to the Southeastern United States Anat Sultan-Dadon, followed a pressure campaign by right-wing pro-Israel websites and an advocacy group to remove the graduate student, Kylie Broderick, from teaching the history department course called “The Conflict over Israel/Palestine.” The websites and pro-Israel advocacy group pointed to postings Broderick had made on Twitter that criticized Israel and Zionism and, without evidence, cited the postings as evidence of antisemitism.

Palestinian Parties, Organizations Greet Abbas’s Pledge to take Israel to Int’l Criminal Court as “Historic” and Roadmap

Imagine Israel the newly formed and self-declared Jewish State being brought before the ICC

President Mahmoud Abbas’s UN speech, in which he pledged to take Israel to the International Criminal Court if its squatter-settlements weren’t withdrawn within a year, with widespread acclaim. The International Criminal Court decided in March of this year that it has jurisdiction over the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza because the Palestine Authority has invited it to consider rights abuses there. Palestine is a signatory to the Statute of Rome, which established the ICC at the Hague in the late 1990s, and member states can ask the court to take up cases. Palestine was able to become a signatory because it was granted the status of non-member observer state at the UN by the General Assembly in 2012. This is the same status enjoyed by the Vatican.
