Myths of the No Campaign… – The Fiberal Party of Australia – Lies & Misdemeanours | Facebook

Revealed: the elite money behind the No campaign

In the dark and hidden recesses, there are the other Tim Gurners those who keep their mouths shut and pay others to do their dirty work for them

The payments being made on both sides of this referendum should be revealed now, so Australians can know who is funding the arguments before they cast their votes.

the No campaign has an establishment of its own, full of people with money, influence and connections as well as harbourside views. It turns out that a transport company boss and a building materials millionaire are among the donors behind Advance Australia, although their names do not show up in the disclosures at the Australian Electoral Commission.

This is important when so little is known about the peak group behind the No campaign, Advance Australia, and the activist group it has set up, Fair Australia. These groups are secretive by design, but key facts about the tactics adopted by some of their members emerged in news reports by this masthead this week about the way they coached volunteers to use fear and doubt rather than facts to defeat the Voice at the October 14 referendum. It is not suggested that any of the donors identified below endorsed the controversial tactics revealed in the news reports.

Yes Group Links – Indigenous Australia

No group links- Global

Dr Jeremy Walker, a lecturer of political studies at the University of Technology Sydney, alleges No campaign disinformation is linked to the Atlas Network, a global network of right-wing think tanks and lobby groups that was partly funded by the billionaires Charles and David Koch.

The multibillionaire brothers were (David is now deceased) co-owners of Koch Industries, a conglomerate with interests in petroleum and chemicals, and have been credited with dragging American politics to the right by funding anti-union politicians.

Atlas was described this week by the New Republic as a “shadowy global network” with “powerful allies in the oil, gas, and extractive industries”.

The global network of organisations has previously been funded by the tobacco industry and includes LibertyWorks, an Australian activist group chaired by No campaign frontman Warren Mundine.

LibertyWorks reportedly owed the government more than $170,000 for failed legal cases brought against COVID-19 restrictions.

Advance Australia was contacted for comment.

Voters this week received text messages from Fair Australia’s other lead spokesperson, NT Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price calling the Voice “risky, unknown and divisive” and containing a link to a Liberal Party-run website for casting postal votes on the referendum.

Senator Price’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

Culture warrior Jacinta Nampijinpa Price says out loud what white conservatives do not dare

Coalition spokeswoman for Indigenous Australians Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price at the National Press Club on Thursday.

When one individual doesn’t make or even begin to represent history and denies the reality of the racial experience of whole generations of people she’s chosen by the LNP as their representative and promoted to a White audience by Peter Dutton as being the REAL representative of Australia’s Aboriginal peoples .  Price was selectively chosen to be the “Avenging Angel” listened to at the expense of hundreds of Indigenous persons elected as representatives who came together to discuss debate and work on for years to arrive at the consensus came to be known as the Uluru Statement. When Jacinta Price speaks at CPAC or the Press Club we are witnessing exactly what Marcia Langton said was the truth. That the logic of their argument was basically racist or plain stupid.

What we are witnessing is the same logic applied when there’s a 97% consensus among Climate scientists about the reality of man-made Climate Change that the 3% of corrupt deniers get as much if not more publicity than the scientists. Paid puppets of the Murdoch media and the IPA, like Andrew Bolt, are promoted as “experts” in publications telling Australians for years that the planet was cooling. The investment by a concentrated mainstream media in presenting the argument of “don’t know vote No” for as one advocating basic human rights and unifying when history and social metrics clearly say otherwise is absurd. Then broadcasting “Yes” to be divisive and reverse racist beggar’s belief. However, when analyzed and push comes to shove that is as Marcia Langton says the publicity being given to the absurdity of the systemic racist logic that we have all lived with these past 240 years but only some of us have in the main Indigenous Australians have lived lived.

It’s the same argument imported direct from America today by Trumpists and neo-Nazis and Christian Nationalists who like Jacinta Price say “slavery was good for the African Americans” and their experience today is their Lifestyle Choice

This is what Peter Dutton gets from making Jacinta Nampijinpa Price the Coalition’s Indigenous spokeswoman: a weaponised conservative woman who can say things out loud that white conservatives haven’t dared to say since the early 1960s.

Price’s comment conveniently ignored the fact that colonisation to many Aboriginal people, unlike convicts who might have been flogged but eventually got tickets of leave, meant starvation through the loss of hunting grounds, loss of life through massacre by guns and poison, mass deaths through imported disease, and last-chance survival in mission stations where traditional culture and language were often forbidden and families were broken apart.

The idea that the resulting trauma did not flow through generations to the present day is poppycock.

Warren Mundine would ‘consider seeking’ spot on Voice amid Peter Dutton’s Marcia Langton claims | news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site

Warren Mundine is a leading No campaigner but would consider seeking a spot on the Voice. Picture: NCA NewsWire / Gary Ramage

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says Marcia Langton would have ‘all the power’ under the Voice. Picture: NCA NewsWire / Martin Ollman

Listen to words out of the mouths of these two “No” advocates if you listen are the same sounds, declared as logic, we hear from Donald Trump. Mundine ignores history and any notion that there’s a difference between what’s right and wrong. He simply declares there is an “equivalence”, and “good and bad are on both sides” of Yes and No campaigns when they’re not. Trump said that after Charlottesville when his supporter drove his car into a crowd injured people and killed a woman.

The word “listen” has no place when Mundine says “We will fix Aboriginal community problems trust us and simply say “No” to their request for a Voice. Words, heard over and over again for more than 10 generations by Governors, Churches, and bureaucrats. Promises made and more often than not broken without any beneficial outcomes by successive governments. Einstein’s definition of insanity takes pride of place in his proposal. History has shown a trail of failed outcomes time and time again leaving Indigenous Australians at the bottom of every social metric. It’s with shame that any concept of a universal human right in Australia is ignored.

Peter Dutton is simply worse at fear-mongering with his simplistic claim of “it’s reverse racism” Racism against the kin of those kind-hearted white colonists now being terrorized. Invaded by Activists, Academics, Unionists, and Commies. Any Woke argument that the colonizers never had the best interests of Australian Aborigines at heart only their own is simply fake. He’s recruited Jacinta Price to hide behind and say that “Colonisation was the best thing that ever happened to Indigenous Australians.” Again this is the very argument Trump runs when African Americans cry Black Lives Matter he cries White Lives Matter.  When any attempt at examining the statistical truth of that reality is made both Trump and Abbott bounce back it’s “lifestyle choices” and blame them

Dutton’s argument that any systemic racism in Australia is Fake, only driven by ” left-wing activists” who want to tear Australia apart is supported he maintains by listening to  Price and Mundine” who like Dutton supposedly speak for a crowd of unnamed First Nations peoples who are never seen to stand behind them. On the other hand, the Yes advocates have listened to a Voice. One that Australia saw develop over 6 years of discussion by hundreds of Indigenous Australians who were elected to come together and provide us with their humble request in the form of the Uluru Statement which was then instantly rejected by the LNP. Now that’s “listening” like British Colonizers have always done. Whenever Human Rights are raised in Australia the LNP tells the UNAHRC they’re “not needed” along with the chorus of Murdoch’s choir making us seem we stand shoulder to shoulder with Russia China and Nth Korea.

Leading No campaigner Warren Mundine says he would consider vying for a spot on the Voice should the referendum succeed on October 14.

On Thursday, Mr Dutton returned serve, branding Ms Langton’s language as “vitriolic” and “bitter”, and claiming Yes campaign members would be appointed to the Voice advisory body.

“Well, I think they’re just providing, you know, a sort of a look through the window of what the Voice might be as a body – if it’s successful on October 14, it will be divisive,” he told Nine Radio host Ray Hadley.

“You hear it in the language of Marcia Langton, but some of the others as well … members on the (Yes) committee who have got union affiliations or Labor Party backgrounds or sympathisers to the communist cause.

“These people are the ones who would have all of the power under the Voice that the Prime Minister is proposing,” Mr Dutton said.

Mr Mundine said no matter the result on October 14, Australia would be “polarised”, but pleaded for both sides of the campaign to end the “vitriolic arguments and fights”.

“My concern is that we don’t wake up on Sunday (October 15) and the whole place is on fire. We really want people to know, no matter what the decision is, that it’s a democracy,” he said.

“People will make that choice and we must all accept it. And we must then work together to deal with the issues that are happening in Indigenous communities.”

That these aspirations seem to be naive simply serves to illustrate how low our common expectations have sunk. But unless we begin to look at the coverage of news and current events as being a core and important issue, and take steps to stop our current slide into partisan nonsense, then our Australian media environment may very soon become as hopelessly gridlocked and fractured as in the US.

This is why the current discussions regarding curbing the instances of misinformation and disinformation in our media are both necessary and should be applauded by all Aussies, regardless of their political bent. But these regulatory measures can only be viewed as a starting point. There is a need to move to decentralise our media and unwind the massive monopolies that currently exist. The good health of our democracy depends on cultivating a healthy press environment.

The stakes are high. Big Brother is not just a scary tale. Nineteen-eighty-four is not in our rear-view mirror. Just as in America, very soon parts of our media may also become so utterly detached from reality, that half our population will begin agitating for renovations to our law, in accord with a brand new and improved his

Destroying Chilean Democracy: Australia’s Covert Role Five Decades On – » The Australian Independent Media Network

In 1983, Australia’s Attorney-General Senator Gareth Evans told the Senate that no Australian security agency had gotten its hands dirty in activities that eventually led to the overthrow of Chilean President Salvador Allende. In what can only count as a stunning whopper of a statement, Evans stated the following: “To the extent that some intelligence co-operation activity may have occurred at an earlier time, there is no foundation for any suggestion that Australia in any way assisted any other country in any alleged operations or activity directed against the Allende regime.”

FOI has revealed the shameful involvement of the UK in their support and involvement in the Pinochet Coup in Chile, America’s involvement was always patently clear. How is it ours in Australia remains a well-held secret. One that would show just how influenced we are by the more pwerful?

In calling for an apology to the Chilean people, the Greens are also demanding the declassification of any relevant ASIS and ASIO documents that would show support for Pinochet, including implementing “oversight and reform to our intelligence agencies to ensure that this can never happen again.” With the monster of AUKUS enveloping Australia’s national security, the good Senator should not hold his breath.

Tim Gurner says employees have become too arrogant

Property developer Tim Gurner.

Tim Gurner is a tale stitched into the fabric of the Australian dream. The lump sum inheritance, or the familial guarantor. The financial backstop that’s always there in every story, though never in the headline. They are the foundational facts that are glazed over in the origin stories of Australia’s over-levered property wunderkinds.

The mindset of a brainless brat claiming “victimhood” and now being on “struggle street”. He should reveal his pay and bottom line over the past two decades rather than wail a dirge of mourning to his short-term loss of those recent Cha-Ching years. Gurner has no regard for the reality of the past 10 years where the data shows what he’s claiming is absolute bullshit.

Any financial downturn now in the building industry has been sudden and recent due to the rise in interest rates and the promises he made to secure his loans when rates were so low and for a very long time. If he’s financially squeezed now and over-leveraged and unprepared for it in the current market, it’s due to his own mismanagement. He can’t expect his workers to pay for for his fuck up. After all he didn’t share his profits with them during the boom times. But it sounds as if the little prick is promoting the expectations of Capitalism not to be made public and has made headlines globally. If he’s lucky he’ll be showered with money from a world of grandfathers and told to zip his lip.

Had he structured his business more cooperatively, sharing his profits with workers rather than railing against them he might have avoided the situation he finds himself in now. Seems his grandfather is dead and his family thinks he is an idiot and should have stayed mum. Hadn’t he heard of “phoenixing” a well-practiced builders’ strategy when financially in trouble.

“We need to see pain in the economy. We need to remind people that they work for the employer, not the other way around. There’s been a systematic change where employees feel the employer is extremely lucky to have them, as opposed to the other way around. It’s a dynamic that has to change.”

A new brand of far-right religious nationalism in Israel is seeking to refine the country’s ethnocentric basis, increasing its policing of the boundaries of Israeli Jewish identity in an attempt to shore up support for Israel’s anti-Arab policies. A parallel movement is unfolding in Israel’s chief benefactor, the United States, as the U.S. Zionist movement seeks to marginalize the increasing number of American Jews who are critical of Israeli apartheid in favor of Christian Zionists for whom the existence of a Jewish state in the Levant is part of their millenarian agenda.

Australia Post loss another death-knell for essential services – Pearls and Irritations

Australia Post Delivery Truck.

Australia Post has been challenged by technology. Yes, however as obviously in the same way as the ABC and SBS have by the previous LNP government. Privatization for Rupert Murdoch’s quid pro quo mutual interest has been a clear intent. The ABC is the most essential National Service more so than the Australia Post. It protects our Democracy.

Morrison certainly kneecapped and trashed Aus Post when he rid it of Christine Holgate. He set it up to fail. The LNP has simply been following the Republican and Trump model of a privatized and politically biased Public service by staffing it with a politically biased hierarchy and privatizing as much of it as rapidly as possible. A privatized public service is by definition more ideologically sympathetic to the LNP and more easily manipulated than an independent one as we saw in the case of Robocop.

Australia Post’s $200.3 million loss for 2022-23 is only the second in its corporate history. It also confirms that, with Christine Holgate gone, Australia Post is once again being set up to fail to justify removing its community service obligation and possible privatisation.

Israel and its Occupation exact a High Price from Palestinians

Last week, the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People called for Israel’s “immediate and unconditional” pull out from East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza. Its annual report cited Israel’s breaches of key tenets of international law as proof that Israel’s forever occupation is illegal. These include annexation of portions of the occupied territories, mistreatment of Palestinian inhabitants, and imposing apartheid. This study, one of scores, “concludes that Israel is in gross violation of these laws and that the administration of the occupation has become illegal”, stated Michael Lynk, the UN’s former special rapporteur on Palestine.

Sovereignty mocked in the ‘proxy war’ in Ukraine

Putin claims Ukraine is not a country — history begs to differ

Putin isn’t Russia and ergo in this case Russia hasn’t invaded the Ukraine Putin has. Just as NATO hasn’t invaded Russian territory. NATO, the EU, and even America aren’t Authoritarian states. They don’t imprison or assassinate opposition voices. The “pup” being sold here is that Putin is the “victim”. Isn’t that what Trump is selling that he is the victim of the deep state and that he alone understands and could fix any problem that we face by treating despots, like Vlad and Kim more fairly. However, not Xi and never China that would be going too far economically

Russia, rightly or not, believes that it is facing an existential crisis. The giants of investigative journalism, who have been all but cancelled, silenced from mainstream media and deemed to be irrelevant agree with the basis of Russia’s claims and are wary of the way this proxy war is being prosecuted. The Ukrainian people have been “sold a pup”. They are being used and manipulated by the West, NATO, and primarily by the USA.

Sounds like a call to Vote Trump.

Our own government, in close alignment with the USA, NATO and the majority of the West, quickly made the determination that it was a relatively black-and-white affair. There is a “goody” and a “baddy” and that is as much as the people need to know. The media speak with one voice. There is more than a hint of Animal Farm in this. ‘Four legs good, too legs bad.’ Russia, we must believe, invaded Ukraine to grab territory, to grow an empire, and to return to a faded imperial past.

When Murdoch pledges allegiance to the Right he does so in the global Anglosphere. So is there any chance the Right doesn’t unite behind the center of his power, America? After all, it’s where Peter Dutton fled to on being elected the leader of the opposition. His first stop to shop for his basket of strategies. Nothing new comes out of his mouth that wasn’t first heard and tested in the USA by the GOP, Trump, and or on Fox News.

Behind them lies the ultimate of puppetmasters with money to burn the Heritage Foundation and billionaires like the Kochs that have been fouling Democracy when Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. 310 (2010), was the landmark decision of the Supreme Court of the United States regarding campaign finance laws and free speech under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The court held 5–4 that the freedom of speech clause of the First Amendment prohibits the government from restricting independent expenditures for political campaigns by corporations, including nonprofit corporations, labor unions, and other associations. They are America’s political influencers today just as the IPA is ours.

American and Australian Handshake

Let’s Fact Check Grandiose Claims

Last week the Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet released a brief press release about Mr. Albanese’s forthcoming trip to Washington from the 23rd to the 26th of October which will be his first such visit since becoming Prime Minister. The enthusiasm of the members of Albanese’s staff seems to have run away with them. They declared that ‘the Australian-United States relationship is unique in scale, scope and significance reflecting more than 100 years of partnership between our nations’. They are very large claims but are they true?

G20 Aesthetics: Modi’s Brutal Delhi Facelift – » The Australian Independent Media Network

The poor of India always suffer when any International Circus arrives in town. Modi is no exception in criminalizing the poor at the expense of an International image

As it happens, the G20 Delhi summit was, as so many of these occasions are, much ado about nothing. The absence of China and Russia turned the occasion into a G18 gathering, removing a good deal of flavour that would otherwise have been present. At the very least it provided Modi an excellent excuse to rough up the slum dwellers, using beautification as a strategy to criminalise the poor.

Big Oil and Big Coal countries Block meaningful G20 Climate Pledge, in wake of World’s Hottest Summer on Record

A Circus on the road to nowhere

Shivam Patel at Reuters reports that the G20 summit in New Delhi made no specific, agreed-upon statement on climate and energy goals. The 20 richest countries in the world agreed to triple renewable energy by 2030 and to cut way back on coal, but did not set out specifics. They also said nothing about electrifying transportation to avoid use of petroleum. (Cough [Saudi Arabia] cough.)

Israel’s War on Children | The Smirking Chimp

When a Rabbi declares Palestinian children should be killed like rats what do you expect but death, lifetime injury, and inability to get medical treatment? It’s the Grim Reaper’s full package offered to children by an adult state that treats them as their future enemies.

Israel kills Palestinian children as a matter of policy. This claim can easily be demonstrated and is supported by the latest findings of a Human Rights Watch report.
