The settlers want Gaza in the West Bank so they can drive out as many Palestinians as possible, and the army backs them up. According to UN figures, since October 7, 344 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, 88 of them children. Eight or nine of them were killed by settlers. At the same time, five Israelis were killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, four of them by security forces.

The reason is that the IDF has in recent months started firing from the air to kill in the West Bank, like in Gaza. On January 7, for example, the army killed seven youngsters who were standing on a traffic island near Jenin, after one of them apparently threw an explosive charge at a jeep and missed.

It was a massacre. The seven youngsters were members of one family, four brothers, two more brothers and a cousin. That doesn’t interest Israel.

Now the IDF is moving forces from Gaza to the West Bank. The Duvdevan undercover unit is already there, the Kfir Brigade is on its way. They’ll return to the West Bank stoked with the indiscriminate killing in Gaza and will want to continue the great work there as well.

Israel wants an intifada. Maybe it will even get one. It should just not feign surprise when this happens.

As Gaza's death toll exceeds 25,000, residents are as much at risk of famine as they are missiles.

If Israel has proven to be lying why does Western media continue to state their unverified facts as if true? Is Israel the only source of their information being delivered as News? The biggest problem with these stories isn’t just the continuing absence of any meaningful evidence for “systematic” rape; or Israel’s long track record of lying to justify state terrorism; or Israel’s refusal to cooperate with independent investigators; or the racist, anti-Arab tropes that pass for sophisticated analysis in western circles.

The current war, Operation Swords of Iron, is in fact one of the grimmest things currently happening on Earth.

New Evidence of Mass Execution of Gazans by Israeli Forces | – IMEMC News

A new report has revealed details about one of the numerous incidents of Israeli soldiers carrying out a mass execution of Palestinian civilians – this one in the ‘Anan’ residential building in Gaza City on December 19, 2023.

Photos and eyewitness testimonies documented this incident, in which 15 men were forced to lay down on their stomachs, then shot and killed. A three-year old girl, Nada, was killed in the Israeli shelling that followed the executions.

According to eyewitness testimony from a woman, Heba, her daughter Rula and son, Uday, the Israeli soldiers separated the men from the women before shooting them, and their father, Ayman (44 years old), was among the victims.

Heba told Al Jazeera reporters, “They separated us from the men first, then they pushed the women and kids from one room to another, brutally beating us as they moved us.”

She continues in her narration, “There were about 15 men in the building. They stripped them of their clothes and tortured them in front of us. In terms of posterity’s calling, there are surely fewer better things at this point for a US president nearing mental oblivion to do, or a Tory government peering at electoral termination to facilitate, than the release of Assange. At the very least, it would show a grudging acknowledgment that the fourth estate, watchful of government’s egregious abuses, is no corpse, but a vital, thriving necessity.

The millionaires who are begging to pay more tax

Brian Cox wants millionaires and billionaires to pay more tax.

Being a millionaire is just another small powerless voice in the land of the financial elite and powerful.  Of Course they’d support a qualified change of a 2% tax for those over $10M in investments to help the trickle-down that never occurred these past 50-plus years.  Only too happy to salvage a dying system rather than change it. It’s a bit of a cry by millionaires to ” Hey look over there” Billionaires and Trillionaires they need to give a lot more”. Millionaires already saw their taxes generously reduced and profits up by far more than 2% aren’t giving back anything they made in real terms.

It’s the structure of global corporations that needs to be changed from private to public and a real Future Fund established and they need to be taxed and the profits invested for our and a global common good. Can you imagine the Military Industrial Complex battling the war on poverty health and housing? Their shareholders need to feel the benefits of profit sharing and not feel it as a punishment tax simply because of their current lack of interest in contributing to a common good. Israel and its supporters currently need to be heavily punished and taxed. The Bhutanese on the other hand don’t as they already base their economy on ” Gross National Happiness”

A recent survey has found that nearly half of all millionaires from G20 countries think extreme wealth is a threat to democracy.

The survey was conducted by Survation on behalf of Patriotic Millionaires and found that three-quarters of those questioned supported higher taxes on wealth.

For the survey more than 2300 people from G20 countries with more than $1 million investable assets, excluding their homes, were polled.

The survey found 74 per cent were in support of higher taxes on wealth to aid the cost-of-living crisis and improve public services.

Some 75 per cent also support a two per cent wealth tax on billionaires being introduced, and 58 per cent support the tax for people with more than $10 million.

Additionally, 72 per cent believe extreme wealth can buy political influence and 54 per cent maintain that extreme wealth is a threat to democracy.
