Israel is about to pass laws against journalists who report Facts that contradict the State. They are the State that wants to bring the judiciary to heel. They have the weaponry with the capacity to kill 500 people with one blast. Apart from that even Jews no longer believe in what their government is doing.

After noting that Israel is blaming the blast on a failed rocket launch by Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), MSNBC foreign correspondent Raf Sanchez quickly pointed out that PIJ rockets don’t tend to do that kind of damage, but Israeli missiles do. He also noted that Israel has an extensive history of lying about this sort of thing.

Israel was founded on lies. The lie that Palestinian land was largely unoccupied. The lie that 750,000 Palestinians fled their homes and villages during their ethnic cleansing by Zionist militias in 1948 because they were told to do so by Arab leaders. The lie that it was Arab armies that started the 1948 war that saw Israel seize 78 percent of historic Palestine. The lie that Israel faced annihilation in 1967, forcing it to invade and occupy the remaining 22 percent of Palestine, as well as land belonging to Egypt and Syria.

groups monitoring regional social media activity say censorship of Palestinian users is at a level not seen since May 2021, when violence flared between Israel and Gaza following Israeli police incursions into Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem.

Two years ago, Meta blamed the abrupt deletion of Instagram posts about Israeli military violence on a technical glitch. On October 15, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone again attributed claims of wartime censorship on a “bug” affecting Instagram. (Meta could not be immediately reached for comment.)

Journalists will be arrested

Palestinians, as well as some left-wing Jews, are being suspended from studies, fired from jobs, or arrested at night — all because of social media posts.

Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi on Monday brought to the Knesset’s security cabinet new legislation that would give him the authority to take broadcasts off air and confiscate broadcasting equipment if a program is seen as damaging national security or public order, or as contributing to “enemy propaganda.” The Likud minister had reportedly already proposed even more draconian legislation — shelved for the relatively more moderate bill tabled Monday — that would have given the police the power to arrest civilians who share information that “undermines the morale of Israel’s soldiers and residents in the face of the enemy.”

Germany admits they were Nazis, Racists, and white supremacists daily. They teach it as fact in schools and remind children of that unfortunate criminal history. The Dutch hid their history for over 40 years until they were caught out by Israel that they had deported 84% of their Jews to labor camps and only 16% survived. . The LNP insists we hide our less-than-glorious racist past and emphasize it with a Glorious white one. How do you decide the direction of a Nation without truthfully acknowledging its history? On 14/10/23 we said we preferred to lie and proved to the world we are Racists.

What possible reason could any well-intended citizen have for voting against a simple constitutional adjustment aimed at improving the lives of so many First Nations people? Are so many of my countrymen really wearing their racism so blatantly on their sleeves?

Could truth in political advertising laws have saved the Voice debate from lies?

We once had an ABC that monitored things just like that. Abbott banned his Ministers for being on any ABC program. Immediately he began cutting the public broadcasters’ budget, appointing his choices to the board, and making sure the ABC was biased rather than critical by questioning the government in order that the public was aware of what was happening as opposed to what they were told was happening. No ALP government has ever done that to the degree Abbott did. Abbott has now been appointed to the board of News Corp almost suggesting that the leader of the opposition isn’t really Peter Dutton.

“Misleading political advertising marred the Voice referendum and led to confusion, fear and mistaken beliefs about what the Voice to Parliament represented and what its powers would be. Without truth in political advertising laws, there is a risk the next federal election will be a fake news free-for-all.”

Now, let us conclude with those five Western leaders mentioned above. They are all leaders of democracies, and all of those democracies have histories ladened with the dead. France has Algeria; Italy has Libya and Ethiopia; the United Kingdom has most of the world; Germany has all of Europe; and the United States has all of Central and South America plus a good chunk of Asia. In all of these places, these standard holders of Western civilization have waged wars big and small, and killed so many people that it is a wonder there is such a thing as overpopulation. Thus, when we hear that all of them have pledged to stand firmly by Israel (a proven apartheid state), let us not be surprised—they are only being consistent.

How the media failed Australia in the Referendum ‘campaign’

Corporate Consolidation of Media failed Australia’s ability to distinguish facts from fiction, news from propaganda, and justified it as Free Speech and called Opinion all in the interests of Democracy. What a scam it was. We have stricter advertising laws. We put Peter Foster in jail for less than what we saw the LNP do to the Referendum. Corporate Media isn’t even a Citizen it is a system that has no loyalties other than to its shareholders and that part of the market that will guarantee a profitable outcome and that’s the money end of town. That’s neither the public nor the common good. The % of the public is what the media sells, ratings not news, and says anything for attention. It’s a Quid pro Quo arrangement with wealth power and interests. The referendum was about who and who wasn’t deserving of Charity and who best controlled the money. Should money go directly to FN people to close the gap or be filtered through third-party administrators as it was during a decade of LNP government?

Warren Mundine and News Corp we know shared $325,000. Planners, advertisers, and administrators of the Cash Card certainly heard the sound of Kaching. As did all those other contractors doffed with the gifts from the $4.5 B purse. Little of which if any was seen in remote communities so kept that gap widening. Little has changed since the 19th century other than the deck chairs on the ship that First Nation’s peoples have found themselves.

The mainstream media’s performance during the Voice Referendum campaign was an abject failure, writes former CEO and editor-in-chief of The Age, Ranald MacDonald.

‘Voice’ lies and mistruths bolster calls for media royal commission

Dutton wants an RC as well but not on the referendum lies and distortion but into how money was spent on NF people. Dutton wants to Robodebt audit the Indigenous Affairs dept and examine how that $26.5 B was spent or was that $4.5B allocated much of which never really saw the light of day in remote communities. All that admin bureaucratic planning that went into their brilliant “cash card” or the wages of other institutional administrators and thinkers of schemes like the $325K that was allocated to Warren Mundine’s Sky News program promised to fix that widening gap.

The “No” campaign won the referendum by muddying, misrepresenting, contradicting and lying about what the Voice is and its consequences, writes Dr Victoria Fielding.

Postscript on the 2023 Referendum: Let Political Risk-Taking and Responsible Activism Distract from the Profound Negativity of Voice Result – » The Australian Independent Media Network

Readers can continue their activism with a new focus after the disturbing results of the Voice referendum. History may soon exonerate Anthony Albanese for his commitment to failed constitutional change. Perhaps this result can be a springboard for pragmatic action to address the wider economic, social and cultural divides in Australia. There will be little grassroots resistance to these commitments which is what the electorate expects from a Labor government.

A graphic featuring Australian currency and the Yes logo signifying the dangerous influence of money on the democratic process

Show us the Money!! Turn the lights on!!

The referendum showed how vulnerable our electorate is to all the games emerging out of the American Right. It is imperative that we urge the Albanese government to speed up the integrity platform reforms it promised, and to do them with precision. No government lasts indefinitely: Labor needs to protect itself from a post-democratic Right as much as the nation needs them to do it. If the major parties plan to prevent future challenges to their control of government we need to protest before they embed it in legislation.

The connections are rarely straightforward: money and influence have worked in labyrinthine ways over decades to distort the playing field for the interests of the wealthy, in particular for tobacco and fossil fuels.

Over the weekend, investigative reporter Anthony Klan revealed the shadowy status of Advance and its promoters. Precisely in the Atlas model, it has a network of fake “grass roots” seeming bodies – a strategy called astroturfing – that include entities dedicated to attacks on climate action.

There is a genocide about to happen right under our noses. There is an ethnic cleaning about to occur on our watch. The hypocrisy of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia and numerous other Western countries highlights the enormity of dominance via white superiority and callousness. Framing the Language of Carnage in Palestine: Advantage Israel – CounterPunch.org

Palestinians, however, remember the words of the late Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s first Black president and leader of its anti-apartheid movement, whose life resembles their own. Mandela recognized that there are some regimes that are so cruel and so unjust, that people have no alternative but to resist by force. On a visit to the Middle East in 1999 he reaffirmed his support of the Palestinian struggle, saying: “Choose peace rather than confrontation, except in cases…when we cannot move forward. Then if the only alternative is violence, we will use violence.”

Indigenous Australians Mourn Failure of Referendum to Recognize Groups in Constitution

Yes supporters react

How easily we forget that the LNP wanted to get rid us the UNAHRC. We signed the document and then pretended we didn’t. Abbott even promised to amend the Racial Discrimination Act when Andrew Bolt was found guilty. By “amend he meant to get rid of its teeth”. When Asylum Seekers asked for Human Rights the LNP said No “You’re not asylum seekers you’re “illegals”. Indigenous Australians asked after 5 years of hard work to ask and the LNP simply said No without listening to why? As a Nation we criticize but proudly stand with China, Russia, Nth Korea, and Israel and are only too happy to give NZ, Canada, Taiwan South Africa  Norway and other colonial nations who do give their Indigenous peoples a Voice the finger

“The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which was endorsed by Australia in 2009, recognizes that Indigenous people have the right to participate in decision-making in matters that would affect their rights, and that governments should consult with Indigenous people before making laws that affect them,” said Daniela Gavshon, the group’s Australia director. “It is a blight on Australia’s history that successive governments of various political persuasions have failed to uphold the rights of First Nations people.”

“It is a blight on Australia’s history that successive governments of various political persuasions have failed to uphold the rights of First Nations people,” said the Australia director for Human Rights Watch.

Communities with large populations of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders voted overwhelmingly for the referendum, but nationwide, 60.4% of voters sided with a “No” campaign that relied on misleading the public about how the new policies would be implemented.

“That people who have only been on this continent for 235 years would refuse to recognize those whose home this land has been for 60,000 and more years, is beyond reason,”

“If only people down south had seen what Aboriginal people in the bush were voting for, then maybe we would have had a different result,” Marion Scrymgour, a member of Parliament for the Labor Party who represents Lingiari in the Northern Territory, toldThe Guardian. Forty percent of Scrymour’s constitutents are Indigenous, and 74% of the people living in the division’s most remote areas voted for the “Voice” referendum.

Dutton’s Pyrrhic victory – Pearls and Irritations

<p>

The White Australian Majority trampled on an Indigenous request 5 years in the making. ” Oh, I didn’t know” is simply a Racist cover”

Certainly, Dutton has demonstrated that disinformation, division and some outright lies can confuse and motivate large sections of the community.

“The giant Gulliver of Australian goodwill allowed itself to be immobilised by a hundred petty Lilliputian doubts and fears, turning five years of Yes into a decisive No.

“John Howard for instance, urged people to vote NO because of the need to ‘maintain the rage’. What in earth does the former prime minister have to be so angry about? What is about a disadvantaged minority comprising 3% of the population that demands a sustained national rage?”

Moreover, there is the question of trust. Before the last Federal election Scott Morrison topped the list of most distrusted Australian politicians. Peter Dutton came second. The rest of the top 10 were also Liberals.

Dutton looks as if he is set to take over the top place – much to the advantage of the Teals and Anthony Albanese.

The tragic history of Coalition betraying Indigenous Australians

A sober reflection and why history sends an important message but we also need trusted and clear-eyed messengers to deliver it

Since Federation in 1901 there have been six major landmarks in Indigenous affairs. The Coalition has reversed or opposed them all, reports Alan Austin.

Last Saturday’s referendum which fulfilled that commitment was resoundingly defeated, as was, of course, inevitable once the craven Opposition decided for political advantage to oppose it.

The nation must now reflect on this and find some way to live with it for the foreseeable future.

The only positive seems at this stage – from the perspective of those who wish to see Indigenous Australians occupy an honoured place with a significant voice – is if this hastens the demise of the Liberal and National parties at future elections.

Peter Dutton is Australia’s figurehead of fear and fake news, like Trump but without charisma | Katharine Murphy | The Guardian

Opposition leader Peter DuttonBoomgate boo boo: Dutton's lame apology misses the point

Trump has all the characteristics of a psychopath. Charismatic yes, but, without any ability to empathize or be embarrassed when lying. Let’s face it he even unashamedly sexualizes his own daughter in public. On the day of 9/11, while witnessing a Twin Tower collapse, he was being interviewed by phone his comment on seeing what was happening from his window was “I once had the second tallest building in New York.” Now that’s the empathy we see in Dutton.

Boomgate Dutton after attending a Pacific Region Climate Change conference and hearing the fear of ever-rising tides experienced in Kiribati turned that nation’s concern into a joke. A joke to which he and Tony Abbott, our PM, jollied themselves on live TV. Dutton’s only strategy is to go full hog Trumpian and classic Abbott Nope Nope Nope politics. Truth, relevance even offensiveness become secondary to capturing the media’s attention. The public isn’t there to be served they’re there to be manipulated a classic psychopath’s trait but Dutton does it deadpan and without the charisma.

It is important to be clear-eyed about what is happening in our politics. Escalation by escalation, embellishment by embellishment, the Liberal leader is inhabiting the zone of the political fabulist. Like Trump, sans charisma, Dutton is the dancing bear of the engagement economy, dishing up provocations intended to capture the attention of readers and viewers.

This opposition leader makes things up regularly, sometimes several times a day, with growing confidence. He’s fully intent on shaping his own reality, and why wouldn’t he be? Dutton’s accusations and inventions are amplified much more often than they are factchecked, parsed or decoded, because there is so much bollocking and barracking in the public square, people can’t see the bullshit. That’s the point. That’s the strategy.

‘Humanity Must Prevail’ in Gaza, Says UN Official as Refugee Shelters Become IDF Targets

Palestinians fleeing Israeli attacks take shelter at a UNRWA school

“The past week has been a test for humanity,” said Martin Griffiths one week after Hamas unleashed a brutal surprise attack on Israel, killing at least 1,300 people and taking scores of people hostage. As Israel’s response has targeted Gaza—home to two million people, about half of whom are children—repeated airstrikes have bombarded “homes, schools, shelters, health centers, and places of worship,” Griffith said, leaving at least 2,215 Palestinians dead, including more than 600 children.

To execute what will be an operation of sheer pulverisation, euphemised as a mission to “degrade” and “dismantle” terrorist infrastructure, the Israeli Defence Force has now massed on the border with Gaza and is already making what are stated as “incursions”. Journalists from a whole stable of Western news outlets are reporting such this state of affairs as cathartic. There is even a charging frisson, a sense of masochistic delight at the handiwork that awaits the fourth most powerful military in the world.

To that end, the coverage is almost cartoonish: the savage Indians circling the caravans have struck the innocent settlers, and now must be punished with the full modern might of the “settling” power that really wants peace, but whose hand was forced. But the facts remain that the “people’s army,” as the IDF is often called, was hoodwinked, its intelligence community caught unawares. The murderous rage now following is only informed by vengeance born from impotence. The diplomatic corps has gone into hibernation, but in time, political realities will have to be acknowledged, though this is likely to be done over a mountain range of corpses.
