Israeli minister taking ‘legal measures’ against French arms fair ban

Netanyahu accused Macron of a “distressing distortion of history”, saying his country’s founding was achieved by the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, not a UN ruling.

Macron told his ministers that Netanyahu “must not forget that his country was created by a decision of the UN”, referring to the resolution adopted in November 1947 by the United Nations general assembly on the plan to partition Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state.

What Netanyahu conveniently ignores is what preceded what he calls the “Arab War” for more than two decades before there was the TERROR of the ZIONIST WAR . Which came first the chicken or the egg is very clear in this case. Their Project was to establish the Palestinian territory and British Mandate as the “Jewish Homeland”

The Jews conducted a war against both the British and Arabs who had initially accepted Jews as asylum seekers and immigrants. Only 2% of the Jews however purchased any land in Palestine and stole the rest. Before 1929 there was no real tension between Palestinians and Jews other than that “manufactured” by the Zionists to fulfil their political ambition. There was no excuse like the Holocaust in Europe.

Hamas’ War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity (HRW)

Did 7/10 justify Israel’s reaction, an Armed Nation, one of 193 to respond with Crimes Against Humanity on the scale it is currently doing against 2.3 million imprisoned in a refugee camp for the past 20 years?

“I Can’t Erase All the Blood from My Mind” Palestinian Armed Groups’ October 7 Assault on Israel October 7 Crimes Against Humanity, War Crimes by […]

Human Rights Watch has found that the Palestinian armed groups involved in the assault on October 7 committed a widespread attack directed against a civilian population, according to the definition required for crimes against humanity. This is based on the numerous civilian sites that were targeted for the commission of crimes. The attack directed against the civilian population was also systematic, based on the planning that went into the crimes. Human Rights Watch has further found that the criminal acts of the killing of civilians and the taking of hostages were all central aims of the planned attack, and not actions that occurred as an afterthought, or as a plan gone awry, or as isolated acts, for example solely by the actions of unaffiliated Palestinians from Gaza, and as such there is strong evidence of an organizational policy to commit multiple acts of crimes against humanity.

Hamas claims three hostages killed, Gantz quits govt

War cabinet minister Benny Gantz says he is withdrawing from Israel's unity government.

Hamas’ armed al-Qassam Brigades claims in a video posted on its Telegram channel that three hostages were killed, including a US citizen, in an Israeli military operation in which some hostages were freed.

The group did not release the names of those said to be killed but the video showed what appeared to be three unidentifiable corpses using censor bars over their faces.

Meanwhile, Israeli minister Benny Gantz announced his resignation from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s emergency government on Sunday, withdrawing the only centrist power in the embattled leader’s nationalist-religious coalition

We don’t know what Australian Jews think about Gaza – Pearls and Irritations

Australia and Israel flag together relations textile cloth fabric texture

Since October 2023, much has been said about what Jewish Australians think about Israel’s war in Gaza. If you’ve been reading the statistics quoted in media articles, you can be forgiven for thinking that the vast majority of Australian Jews support Israel’s war in Gaza and believe that the student protests on Australian University campuses constitute antisemitism and should be shut down. In reality, we have no idea what the majority of Australian Jews feel about either of these issues because there is no representative survey that has asked us.

Instead, the statistics that are stated in media articles, provided by both Jewish and non-Jewish contributors, are ostensibly drawn from a survey that was finalised prior to the attacks of October 7, 2023, the subsequent violence of the Israeli military in Gaza, and actions in support of Gaza on our University campuses. If you read these articles carefully, you will note that the oft cited statistics don’t even relate to the Israeli military actions and the fallout from them. Instead, they cite wide support for Zionism and Israel and conflate this with support for what has unfolded in Gaza over the past seven months.

Netanyahu Bolstered Hamas – CounterPunch.org

It doesn’t escape anybody that, to a large extent, this has to do with Netanyahu’s desire to escape accountability for his actions. What is becoming increasingly evident is that absolute power has transformed him, making him even more ruthless and more impervious to criticism or to the calls for human kindness.

“Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas. This is part of our strategy –to isolate the Palestinians in Gaza from the Palestinians in the West Bank,” he declared years later. Consequent with this strategy, between 2012 and 2018 Netanyahu gave approval to Qatar to transfer a total of approximately a billion dollars to Gaza, half of which went to Hamas, including its military wing.

Israel war: IDF’s killing of innocent Palestinians has given me no choice but to speak out

Israeli soldiers pose for a photo on a position on the Gaza Strip border, in southern Israel, last month.

And this at a time of war, mass dislodgement and impending famine, and when the allegations – still unsubstantiated – were directed at roughly 0.1 per cent of the UN agency’s estimated 13,000 Gaza staff members.

I thought about this abject failure of the international community and the failure of so many Jewish people to condemn an Israeli government so utterly hijacked by right-wing extremists, messianic radicals, hooligan settlers and a morally bankrupt prime minister.

The Israeli government had for months been preventing sufficient aid from entering Gaza, and Palestinians were now eating grass and drinking putrid water. Hundreds were being forced to share one latrine. Children were beginning to die of famine, and even aid workers were starving to death. Virtually every hospital had been damaged or destroyed. Doctors, nurses, artists, students, teachers, journalists, entire families and children, thousands upon thousands of children, all dead.

“I have never in my many, many years as an aid worker seen a place that has been so bombarded for such a long time, with such a trapped population, without any escape,” said Jan Egeland, head of the Norwegian Refugee Council.

The Intercept: New York Times Exposé Lacks Evidence to Claim Hamas Weaponized Sexual Violence Oct. 7 | Democracy Now!

We speak with Jeremy Scahill and Ryan Grim of The Intercept about their exposé of a major New York Times piece into alleged mass rapes committed by Hamas militants on October 7 that raises serious questions about the accuracy of the story. The Times article was headlined “’Screams Without Words’: How Hamas Weaponized Sexual Violence on Oct. 7,” and its release in late December helped the Israeli government to justify the ongoing war on Gaza and to paint pro-Palestine supporters abroad as not caring about sexual violence. One of the reporters of the Times piece, Israeli freelancer Anat Schwartz, is being investigated by the Times for her social media activity, which included dehumanizing language and endorsements of violence against Palestinians in Gaza. ”The New York Times has grave, grave mischaracterizations, sins of omission, reliance on people who have no forensic or criminology credentials to be asserting that there was a systematic rape campaign put in place here,” says Scahill, who criticizes the newspaper for not issuing any corrections for their flawed reporting. We also hear from Ryan Grim about how the flawed Times article touched off “extremely intense debate” inside the newsroom. “They’re used to external criticism, but the amount of internal criticism they’re getting has them on the back foot,” he says.

Has the IDF slaughtered enough children to make Israel safe from terrorism yet? – The Shot

They too were once babies raised and socialized to dehumanize and hate. 18 years ago PM of Israel Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat signed a peace pact and shared the Nobel Peace Prize. The Priminister of Israel was assassinated by the coalition in power now. In 2006 Palestinians in Gaza voted for Hamas  not the militia bearing their name their political arm because of the welfare programs they had already delivered. Israel  & the USA declared them “terrorists” not the UN and they still don’t today. Who are Internationally out of order? Who are rogue states? Israel then turned Gaza into a “concentration camp” ( Israel’s own description) and it’s been one since 2006.

Israel has been doing what Hamas did on Oct7th on more than one occasion  Operation Cast Lead 2008 and Operation Protective Edge (2014) are just two of many.

The Goldstone report contains an objective assessment of what took place during the military attack on Gaza, which was described by the Mission as serious violations of international humanitarian law and other relevant international instruments.

The effort Israel is currently putting in to prevent any Independent investigation into what has been happening these past 4 months is as much a crime as what has been clearly visible but disguised by their systemic and gigantic flood of rhetoric on International media. So much so they are now losing the media war by shooting themselves in the foot.

This war didn’t start on Oct 7th as the Israelis would like the world to believe

PM says Israel won’t ‘pay any price’ to free hostages

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the country will not pay any price for the return of hostages being held by militants.

The ultra-right government’s priority was never the release of hostages. Since 1929 the Zionists have used the same strategy to gain increasingly more land than they ever returned. They created a conflict where there was peace. Back then they did it by spreading rumours that the Jews were planning to seize control of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Manufacturing hate ensured peace turned into the conflict Zionists wanted. They could then form the Haganagh terrorists calling them defence militias to protect all Jews. Nobody ever said they were dumb but rather disingenuous. They certainly weren’t operating in the interests of all Jews and never have.

The UN, who they now openly call Hamas lovers, solved Britain’s Jewish Problem by ratifying and giving them Israel. The Americans provided welfare in exchange for a ready-made army base in the Middle East the IDF.

In 1969 Israel attacked Egypt and Syria on what PM Ehud Barak openly admitted was a totally presumptive ploy that had no concrete merit. Again it was for more ground which they simply refused to return but illegally settled. In 1978 they returned the Sinai, as a token of peace, to Egypt.

These incursions were continuously called “defence of all Jews” but were rather a strategy to steal land, and water and encourage the diaspora back to Israel. However, that hasn’t happened. While they successfully created “hate” the Jews remained a minority in the region but wanted total control. Leaving the Palestinians with the options of facing Death, Ethnic Cleansing or Apartheid in a Fascist State. They claim 50% of Jews are now Israeli which isn’t true. 1M Israelis at any one time have left without any rushing back. 500k have permanent residency elsewhere and in the meantime, the others are trying to get it.

Currently, Israel is America’s primary base in the Middle East but what was once a quid pro quo arrangement Israeli Zionist greed has now become the tail trying to wag the dog. For their effort the Zionists have tried to gain Land, Gazan Gas and a 3rd Nakbah and a shitload load of  deserved hate.

Asked about the 134 hostages who remain in Gaza, Smotrich told Kan Radio that their return was “very important” but that they could not be released “at any cost”.

Israeli Military Says Hamas Will Not Be Defeated in Gaza Offensive – ScheerPost

Preparing for phase 2 Removing Hamas from Palestine and mass migration calling and it “voluntary” but by any means possible. It’s not what the “IDF says” but what the leadership of Israel Ben Gvir and Smotrich want and Netanyahu their marionette must say.

It’s back to the future of Colonialism at its worst. You can call a white man a cunt, a black man a Nigger, a woman a Shiska, a man a Goy, and an Arab a terrorist but you can’t call a Jew a Jew, a Zionist, or simply an Arschloch without being antisemitic? They have weaponized antisemitism and claimed victimhood just as Being Black Matters and is real Being White Matters, is unreal and fake Racism there is no antisemitism without Hitler and the Nazi State of Germany. They were defeated. However, there are new fascists and new battles for freedom with repeated mistakes. Is it any wonder Marx a Jew was an atheist?

Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Thursday that even if the IDF eliminates Hamas organization in Gaza, the group will continue to fight Israel as “a terror group and a guerrilla group.” The Israeli defense officials concluded in their report that “authentic support remains” for Hamas among Palestinians.

Israel’s Big Game Propaganda

Propagandists for Israel are chosen to be characterized not as Israelis but as British and American personalities. How strange? One thing that makes them stand out is they talk rapidly and over the top of interviewers as if it’s a matter of urgency repeating the same repetitive tropes heard time and time again.

Many viewers felt that what they saw amounted to little more than expensive disinformation. “I’m sorry, is Israel seriously airing a SOB STORY PROPAGANDA AD during the SUPER BOWL while SIMULTANEOUSLY BOMBING THE REFUGEES AT RAFAH???????” wrote one viewer on Twitter.

Nevertheless, the Super Bowl was the most-watched American telecast ever, reaching over 123 million viewers. Some say you cannot put a price on that sort of publicity, but apparently, you can, and that price is $7 million. Propaganda it might be, but in America, money talks. And both Robert Kraft and the government of Israel certainly have a lot of it to spend.

“Are They ‘Hamas’?” 12,300 children killed by Israeli forces in Gaza – Pearls and Irritations

A man holds the body of a baby killed in an Israeli air strike, at Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, 12 February 2024. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 60 people have been killed and over 230 others have been injured in the airstrikes carried out by the Israeli military. According to a statement released by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), two Israeli hostages were rescued during an overnight operation in Rafah. More than 28,300 Palestinians and over 1,300 Israelis have been killed, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), since Hamas militants launched an attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip on 07 October 2023, and the Israeli operations in Gaza and the West Bank which followed it. Israel’s dignity will be damaged, Hamas will be crowned winner, but the war will end – Pearls and Irritations

map - destination: Israel

Israel’s leadership isn’t about the wisest course of action it’s about material goals to be achieved.  It’s about control over Gaza and its gas fields. Everything we have seen is a cheap investment for Israel”arms for nothing and land for free for the future return. Even the public relations battle later will be relatively nothing compared with the years of wealth to be had. The precedents for their methods have been set in the historical record. You take as much as possible and return as little as required. Israel has the cultural capital to remain the West’s favorite actor because their supporters would need to admit they’ve been scammed all these 100 years. Far from it if one adds the Ben Gurion Canal to the strategic mix The US and UK have been well and truly co-conspirators in the race to dominate World Trade routes over China. This war is for Gaza’s land, gas and devaluation of the Suez Canal

The wisest course of action that Israel should have taken a long time ago was to voluntarily release the security prisoners as a gesture and not just as a concession in negotiations. But there is no chance of that happening – it is too smart. Freeing 1,500 prisoners, as Hamas is asking, is neither a disaster nor is it painful. It will bring the hostages home. Disaster and pain will only result if they are not rescued.Nor would it be a disaster or painful to bring an end to this cursed war, during which Israel lost its humanity without achieving its goals from the indiscriminate killing and destruction, the likes of which have only been seen in the most brutal of wars.

Australia’s withholding of aid to Gaza a human rights disgrace

Has this decision been foisted on them by the Australian Israeli Lobby, the LNP, Murdoch, or IPA? It’s certainly not a decision ALP voters would expect of their government. If Palestinian refugees came by boat would they find themselves in forced detention in open-air offshore concentration camps again? We know what Peter Dutton’s position is on that score Yes. While telling Australia it’s a holiday resort compared to where they are now. Israel will be the people smugglers and supply the boats with the foreign aid they already get from us no doubt.

There can be little more morally degenerate than the enabling of and cooperation with what the ICJ has warned is Israel’s “plausible genocide” in Gaza. Wong and Albanese have lost all moral authority and should prepare themselves for their every public utterance to be greeted with contempt, derision and scorn.

The Australian Government has paused contributing to the distribution of aid to Gaza, a decision likely influenced by our toxic allegiance to the USA. Dr Jennifer Wilson reports.

As Civilians Starve in Gaza, Israelis Block Humanitarian Aid Convoy for Third Day – ScheerPost

The Actions of Israel are a reported factual embarrassment to them. The ICJ  told Israel to increase the flow of aid to Gaza and stop using it as a weapon. It’s no coincidence that to continue to restrict aid they accused the UNRWA of being a systemic branch of Hamas. However, simply an allegation rather than a fact. The US or Biden is wedged by Trump in this election year and has been dancing to the Israel Lobby’s tune and has cut UNRWA aid to Gaza. Biden is Israel’s get-out-of-jail card. The UNRWA was a source of independent information that Israel didn’t want to be revealed so reporters and doctors had to be declared branch of Hamas?

The blocking of aid at Kerem Shalom also comes days after the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor reported that the IDF launched an attack with artillery shells, live ammunition, and drones on “hundreds of starving civilians” who were waiting near Gaza City for “U.N. trucks carrying limited aid supplies.” Health officials in Gaza said at least 20 people were killed and 150 were injured in the attack.

The four horsemen of Gaza’s apocalypse – Pearls and Irritations

The policies embraced by the Biden administration not only blithely ignore the realities in the Arab world, but the realities of an extremist Israeli state that, with Congress bought and paid for by the Israel lobby, couldn’t care less what the Biden White House dreams up.

Israel has no intention of creating a viable Palestinian state.

Its goal is the ethnic cleansing of the 2.3 million Palestinians from Gaza and the annexation of Gaza by Israel. And when Israel is done with Gaza, it will turn on the West Bank, where Israeli raids now occur on an almost nightly basis and where thousands have been arrested and detained without charge since Oct. 7.

Israel wants a Palestinian intifada in the West Bank – Pearls and Irritations

Silhouette of soldiers with Israel flag against the sunrise. Concept

Israeli cunning 1) Start and Intafada 2) Create an Oct 7. 3) Create the 2024 Nakba 4) Call it Defense

The settlers want Gaza in the West Bank so they can drive out as many Palestinians as possible, and the army backs them up. According to UN figures, since October 7, 344 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, 88 of them children. Eight or nine of them were killed by settlers. At the same time, five Israelis were killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, four of them by security forces.

The reason is that the IDF has in recent months started firing from the air to kill in the West Bank, like in Gaza. On January 7, for example, the army killed seven youngsters who were standing on a traffic island near Jenin, after one of them apparently threw an explosive charge at a jeep and missed.

It was a massacre. The seven youngsters were members of one family, four brothers, two more brothers and a cousin. That doesn’t interest Israel.

Now the IDF is moving forces from Gaza to the West Bank. The Duvdevan undercover unit is already there, the Kfir Brigade is on its way. They’ll return to the West Bank stoked with the indiscriminate killing in Gaza and will want to continue the great work there as well.

Israel wants an intifada. Maybe it will even get one. It should just not feign surprise when this happens.

Israel accuses Hamas of plot to attack embassy in Sweden

The Mossad agency has alleged an attack was planned against the Israeli embassy in Sweden.

Mossad is Israel’s historically and Internationally renowned spy agency known for: 1) spying on its allies. 2) interfering in their friend’s domestic and foreign politics along with media narratives.3) Known as a global undercover assassination agency. They have assassinated more people in third countries using the documents of friendly nations as a cover than any other agency on the planet. They’ve killed hundreds of targets along with civilians during times of declared truce with Hamas. 4) They even kidnap their own citizens from other allied nations and not tell anyone. Yes, Mossad is a law unto its own. That famous Israeli institution has come out to play in the open on social media. Their credibility is (zip). Their effort today is meant to have the world in fear of Hamas who are on a secret mission in Sweden. If any embassy is blown up it’s more than likely to be a Mossad false flag rather than any action by Hamas.

Strange how all this publicity is coming out now at this particular point in time.

In a statement following up on the arrests announced by Danish, German and Swedish authorities, Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency named an alleged Hamas network member in Sweden, without specifying whether he was also in custody.

There was no immediate response from Hamas, which in the past has said its policy was to limit attacks to Israel, the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip – all territories where it seeks a Palestinian state.

Israel-Hamas war: Senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri killed in Beirut by Israeli drone, say security sources

Israel the State of Denial

Beirut: Senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri was killed on Tuesday night in an Israeli drone strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs of Dahiyeh, a stronghold of allied Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, three security sources told Reuters.

In response to questions from Reuters, the Israeli military said it does not respond to reports in the foreign media.

Mark Regev, an adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told MSNBC that Israel had not taken responsibility for this attack, but “whoever did it, it must be clear: That this was not an attack an attack on the Lebanese state”.

“Whoever did this did a surgical strike against the Hamas leadership,” Regev told MSNBC.

Palestinians Say Netanyahu ‘Confessions’ Reveal Truth of ‘Genocidal War’ in Gaza

Benjamin Netanyahu holds a map of the Middle East without Palestine

Israel like Germany should no longer be allowed a voice in their fascist demand to rid Palestinians of their homeland.” Voluntary migration” at the point of a gun is not just an Oxymoron but a crime against humanity. Netanyahu’s rapist lies have been” I’ll put it in a little bit if it hurts I’ll take it out” and ” I’m only defending Israel against Hamas” “All Palestinians even babies are Hamas therefore…..” “From the river to the sea is Jewish”

The Foreign Ministry said that the Israeli prime minister’s push for what he terms “voluntary migration” shows that ethnic cleansing of the besieged enclave is the real goal of the ongoing bombing and ground invasion.

governments in the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S. have rejected any plans to transfer the population of Gaza to another country, according to Middle East Eye. Both Egypt and Jordan have refused to accept large numbers of Gazan refugees, wanting to avoid a repetition of the first Nakba, in which Israel forced more than 700,000 Palestinians from their homes in 1948.

Netanyahu admits he’s pushing for the expulsion of Gaza’s population under the label “voluntary migration” “Voluntary” as in leave Gaza or die by starvation, airstrikes, diseases, bullets or under an IDF bulldozer! Israel destroyed 2/3 of all buildings in Gaza’s northern half

World’s West leaders wallow in ignorance presented as wisdom

The problem is that Wallace places great significance on Hamas’s original 1988 charterOpens in a new tab, which is explicitly antisemitic and rejects any coexistence with Israel. But he doesn’t appear to know Hamas issued a new charterOpens in a new tab in 2017. In it, Hamas affirms that its “conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion.” And, while the revised charter rejects the legitimacy of Zionism, it accepts “the establishment of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital along the lines of the 4th of June 1967, with the return of the refugees and the displaced to their homes from which they were expelled, to be a formula of national consensus.” This reference to the lines of June 4, 1967 — before Israel captured the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in the Six-Day War — is regarded as accepting the existence of Israel within the borders it had at that time.

Israeli Troops Kill Child, Block Ambulances and Tear-Gas Hospital in Occupied West Bank | Democracy Now!

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces killed an unarmed 17-year-old boy inside the Khalil Suleiman Hospital. Médecins Sans Frontières, or Doctors Without Borders, also witnessed Israeli soldiers blocking medical workers in ambulances carrying discharged patients home. Drivers were forced to get out of their vehicles, strip down and kneel in the streets. MSF says it’s part of a pattern targeting healthcare workers in the West Bank since October 7, which also has included shooting live fire and tear gas at hospitals, blocking emergency vehicles, and humiliating and harassing medical staff.

Outside the hospital compound, Israeli soldiers desecrated a mosque in Jenin and read out Jewish prayers in the style of an Islamic call to prayer. This came as part of a three-day Israeli raid on the Jenin refugee camp which killed at least 12 Palestinians. Israeli forces arrested over 100 others.

Blowback: How Israel Went From Helping Create Hamas to Bombing It

One of the most contentious issues is our Australian political leadership’s silence in condemning the actions of the Israeli government, particularly about the treatment of Palestinians. Reports of violence and human rights violations against Palestinian men, women, and children have been well-documented by international bodies. Yet, there seems to be a conspicuous silence or a heavily diluted response from Australian leaders. This silence is often perceived as an indirect endorsement or a reluctance to upset the Zionist lobby, which is considered a significant political donor and influencer.

Kill them all – Pearls and Irritations

Tel Aviv, 2016 a banner said, No matter how many Palestinians the Israeli Occupation Forces kill, the cry will always be ‘Kill them all’.

This is a direct quote from a banner that was paraded in Tel Aviv in 2016 in support of the Israeli soldier, Elor Azaria who shot, at point blank range, a Palestinian teenager, Abdel Fattah al-Sharif two years earlier. No matter how many Palestinians the Israeli Occupation Forces kill, the cry will always be ‘Kill them all’.

That same cry was repeated last month, by a Floridian USA law-maker, Michelle Salzman, during a debate on the possible call for cease fire, when her colleague, Florida State representative, Angie Nixon said “We’re at 10,000 dead Palestinians. How many will be enough?”

“All of them,” replied Salzman.

This method and this message for dealing with us has always been the same. For the last 120 years.

Kill them all.

Ze’ev Jabotinsky, David Ben Gurion, Menachem Begin, Yizhak Shamir, Golda Meir, Yizhak Rabin, Benjamin Netanyahu, Ariel Sharon, Ben Gvr, Bezalel Smotrich, Rafael Eitan, Moshe Dayan, Chaim Weizmann, et al – have all made it very clear that there is no room in Palestine for Palestinians. Get rid of them.

Kill them all.

AS’AD AbuKHALIL: Hamas Before and After Oct. 7

In the 60’s Che was that face on every young person’s wall and T. He became a cult hero and is still spoken of reverently today. Will Hamas replace Che thanks to Netanyahu who’s certainly not anybody’s hero and is acting like a Philistine.

ISRAELI BREAK CEASEFIRE “As a result of a clear violation by the enemy of the truce agreement in the northern Gaza Strip today, field friction occurred and our mujahideen dealt with this violation. We are committed to the truce as long as the enemy has committed to it, and we call on the mediators to pressure the occupation to adhere to all the terms of the truce on the ground and in the air.”

But Hamas can’t be ended by force. There are reports that its popularity is rising in the West Bank, where it had been banned by the PA. Chants for Hamas have been heard all this week in the West Bank, and in Arab countries.

Stop asking everyone to condemn Hamas

Decades of conflict and struggle in the Middle East are being downplayed by the media’s eagerness to seek condemnation of Hamas by political leaders.

This isn’t a religious war but one of colonial oppression and the right of resistance. Collective Punishment is a war  crime  and more than half of Gaza are children the rest elderly being bombed and starved of food water and medical supplies,

The reality, as Raz Segal punchily declared, has been etched “into the landscape of the occupied Palestinian territories,” a policy of colonisation manifested “through walls, fences, other barriers, and roads intended only for Jews or only for Palestinians.” Writing in 2002, former Israeli Attorney General Michael Ben-Yair merely confirmed that, “We established an apartheid regime in the occupied territories.”

When allegations of apartheid are made, along with accusations that Israel’s policy towards Palestinians conforms to a long tradition of colonial oppression and displacement by the dominant power, defenders arc up in defiance, seeing antisemitism everywhere. On February 8, 2022, Deborah Lipstadt, in testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in confirmation hearings for the role as Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, did just that. She rejected any claims of apartheid, notably by Amnesty International, as “unhistorical,” a crass act of delegitimising a proud democratic country.

And what of the comments from those engaged in planning the assaults of October 7? Mohammad Deif, leader of Hamas’s military wing, claimed that the operation was launched as a direct response to Israeli provocations towards the sanctity of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, notably by Jewish nationalist settlers. “They [Israeli forces] consistently assault our women, the elderly, children and [the] youth; and prevent our people from praying in the Aqsa Mosque while allowing groups of Jews to desecrate the mosque with daily incursions.”

Why did Hamas attack, and why now? What does it hope to gain?

The operation reflects a pattern of four wars and regular outbreaks of violence between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza since 2005, when Israel withdrew its military posts and forcibly removed 9,000 Israeli settlers from the territory.

The Israel-Hamas war: No matter who loses, Iran wins

There will be only one winner in the war that has broken out between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

And it is neither Israel nor Hamas. In an operation coined “the Al-Aqsa Storm,” Hamas, whose formal name is the Islamic Resistance Movement, fired thousands of rockets into Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighters infiltrated Israel by land, sea and air. Hundreds of Israelis have been killed, more than 2,000 injured, and many taken hostage.

In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war on Hamas and launched airstrikes in Gaza. In the first day of reprisals, close to 400 Palestinians were killed, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In the weeks ahead, the Israeli military will surely retaliate and kill hundreds more Palestinian militants and civilians. As an analyst of Middle East politics and security, I believe that thousands on both sides will suffer. But when the smoke settles, only one country’s interests will have been served: Iran’s.

If Trump talks with North Korea, why should the U.S. boycott Hamas? | +972 Magazine

North Korean Vice Chairman Kim Yong Chol met with President Donald Trump at the White House this week. As part of its efforts to denuclearize the Korean peninsula, the Trump administration is conducting negotiations with one of the world’s most brutal regimes. Human Rights Watch has described North Korea’s political prison camps as “the modern day equivalent of the Russian Gulag where prisoners are starved, beaten, tortured and worked to death.” North Korean guards club starving children to death for stealing rice, a UN report explained. Mothers have reportedly been required to observe the infanticide of their newborn babies as a form of punishment.

Despite these ongoing, egregious human rights violations, the White House is pursuing talks with Pyongyang to further U.S. interests. Washington’s engagement with Kim Jong Un makes its policy of refusing to speak with the Palestinian leadership in Gaza even more confounding. While Hamas has carried out horrific attacks, it would be hard to argue that the Islamist group’s actions, especially those in the past year, are more abhorrent than those of North Korea. If advancing U.S. interests is enough of a reason to negotiate with North Korea despite the government’s egregious human rights record, then the same logic must be considered with Hamas.
