Amid the ongoing destruction of Gaza and the slaughter of Palestinians, the identity and authenticity of Jewish people calling into question the actions of Israel are being tarnished. A greater discussion of what it means to be Jewish, what it means to have a Jewish state, and what Judaism has historically taught people is taking place among Jews around the world.

Systemic Journalistic Malpractice: How Western Journalism Failed in covering Gaza

In this case, when Israel, the ally of the US and the West in the Middle East commits war crimes, editors at the big media corporations seem to feel that their job is to paper over these atrocities to protect an ally. Let’s not forget that old video showing President Joe Biden proclaiming in the Senate “[Israel] is the best 3 billion dollar investment [the United States] made…were there not an Israel, the United States would have to invent an Israel to protect our interests in the region (Middle East).”

Citing Israeli “terror” allegations, the BBC plans to broadcast an attack on prominent British Palestinians in a television program presented by pro-Israel reporter John Ware.

The Electronic Intifada has learned that the episode of Panorama is likely to be based partly on “confidential evidence” which has almost certainly been provided by Israeli spies.

The BBC and Panorama declined to comment when asked a series of detailed questions about the forthcoming program.

God’s people and colonialism – » The Australian Independent Media Network

It seems that not a lot has been learned when we view the ongoing crisis in Palestine/Israel, where since the late 19th Century Zionists have sought to colonise, take back the land promised to Abraham by God in the book of Genesis. Since 1948 the explosion of the Palestinian peoples has been an ongoing activity, culminating in what we currently see, the devastation of Gaza and the perpetual dehumanisation of those living on the West Bank, with the rhetoric from the Israeli Prime Minister quoting Biblical calls to destroy the Amalekites (Exodus 17:8-15) for the annihilation of Palestinians.

It really does seem that the laws, you shall not kill, you shall not steal only apply to those who are ‘God’s People.’

Jeremy Scahill: Israel Has Waged a “Deliberate Propaganda Campaign” to Justify Brutal Gaza Assault

UNRWA are just the latest example of what journalist Jeremy Scahill says is a “deliberate propaganda campaign” to justify its brutal assault on Gaza. “This is one of the most epic frauds in modern history, reminiscent of the lies told to explain and justify the invasion and occupation of Iraq,” says Scahill, senior reporter and correspondent at The Intercept.

Israeli Groups Demand Gaza Cease-Fire as Netanyahu Rejects Hamas Deal

Families of Israeli hostages carry photos and banners marching to Netanyahu's residence

The Hannibal Directive is in Play fuck the Hostages. Netanyahu has simply ignored the relatives.

“There is a deal on the table: Free the hostages, end the war. But Israel won’t take it,” said the U.S. Jewish-led group IfNotNow on social media. “Every day without a cease-fire means death for hundreds of civilians, starvation for millions, and safety for nobody. It has to stop. Biden MUST use his leverage to end the bloodshed.”

Police debunk Pro-Israel NSW premier’s false “Gas the Jews” claim – Pearls and Irritations

Debunked rubber stamp.

It’s not a mistake it’s a common theme a template of how Israel’s propaganda works. They desperately need to maintain their narrative in order to achieve their goals before the world  (America) says enough. Then having taken a mile they’ll return an inch but never without bargaining. 50 % of Israel’s economy is military and Diamond-related. BDS Israel the Antisemitic Semite Zionists who in the main are really European Jews

A lie travels around the world before the truth puts on its boots. 120 days since the Australian Jewish Association AJA, alleged pro-Palestine, antiwar protesters chanted “Gas the Jews”, the truth arrives with boots and all.

The NSW Police investigation into the chant “Gas the Jews” has now delivered their conclusive findings that there is no evidence that it was said. The lie that “Gas the Jews” was chanted by the pro-Palestine protesters at the Opera House on October the 9th 2023, was let fly by AJA without inhibition. They posted a subtitled video, alleging that a ‘Muslim mob of hundreds” had chanted, “Gas the Jews”. The protest organisers rejected this allegation.

Thomas Friedman and Journalism’s Red Lines on Israel–Palestine

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 06: Thomas L. Friedman, Author and Columnist, The New York Times leads a Task Force session during 2019 New York Times Dealbook on November 06, 2019 in New York City. (Photo by Mike Cohen/Getty Images for The New York Times)

Many people are unhappy about some recent pensées from New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, headlined “Understanding the Middle East Through the Animal KingdomOpens in a new tab.” Friedman explains that “Iran is to geopolitics what a recently discovered species of parasitoid wasp is to nature.” He informs us that Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq are like caterpillars in which this wasp lays its eggs, and those eggs are the “Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas and Kataib Hezbollah.”

This is imperialistic blather straight out of the 19th century, except horribly written — imagine Rudyard Kipling after an anvil fell on his head. But the column is useful because it reconnects us to a 1982 incident that illustrates how, when it comes to the Middle East and Israel, the management of the Times has sometimes been to the right of Friedman.

The same thing is true for the Times itself. Somehow it is simultaneously the worst and best newspaper on earth. On the one hand, it runs crimes against human cognition about the insects living in the Middle East. On the other hand, it also regularly produces brilliant investigative reporting, sometimes even about IsraelOpens in a new tab

This complexity is extremely cold comfort for the people who are brutalized by the U.S. and its allies. Nonetheless, it’s important to comprehend if we’re trying to understand reality — something we should want to do, no matter how difficult and frustrating it can be.

The Hasbara cover for Israel’s crimes: FLASHBACK 2012

According to the ubiquitous Hasbara Brigade, if you criticise Israel, you’re an anti-Semite — and if you’re Jewish, you become a “self-hater”.

HAVE THE Israelites reached the Promised Land yet? Long in preparation, Operation Pillar of Cloud has followed Operation Cast Lead as the latest episode of the Israeli pastime of shooting Arab fish in a barrel, or rather in the world’s largest open-air prison. Iran is presently in the too-hard basket. Israel’s military and political “strategists” evidently know their Old Testament, even if their intelligence and humanity are seriously deficient.

But no worries. The Hasbara Brigade is ready to spring into action 24/7. Pencils are still sharp from the victory after Operation Cast Lead in converting the laboratory experiment with white phosphorus into a triumph of good over evil. War on Gaza: What is Next after Genocide?

The unchallengeable truth coming out of Gaza speaks of daily planned bloodbath of the civilian population and forced displacement of 1.9 millions to make Gaza another occupied entity of Israel facilitating futuristic exploration of gas and oil in the Mediterranean region favoring Israel and the US interests. Is Israel attacking Gaza for oil and gas? There are reportedly huge gas and oil fields in Gaza and West Bank, reports Muhdan Saglam. Media reports disclose Israeli strategic plans to change the geography by creating another canal from Gulf Of Aqaba to undo the Suez Canal impacting Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan accessibility to the Red Sea.

Israel isn’t Complying with the International Court of Justice Ruling – What Happens Next?

Gazans are now eating grass and drinking polluted water to stave off death. By choosing not to resume its financial support for UNRWA during this pivotal time, Canada is intensifying its complicity in potential genocidal acts.

It’s time to reinforce, not weaken the UNRWA. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urged governments to resume funding, otherwise UNRWA will be forced to shut down operations by the end of February — not only in Gaza, but across the region.

IDF troops filmed ‘cheering Gaza destruction’ – NYT

Hundreds of videos filmed and shared by Israeli soldiers in Gaza show troops bulldozing houses and mocking Palestinian victims, according to research by the New York Times. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has distanced itself from the content, some of which violates its code of conduct.

The NYT said it reviewed hundreds of videos, including more than 50 clips of Israeli engineering troops using bulldozers, excavators, and explosives to destroy homes, schools, and other civilian structures. Some footage reportedly shows soldiers “vandalizing local shops and school classrooms” and “making derogatory comments about Palestinians.”

The officer insisted on the repetition of these slogans; only after more than 45 minutes did the soldiers permit women and children to pass, while men were kept behind.

Amnesty Condemns Israeli Military’s ‘Shocking’ Violence Against West Bank Civilians – ScheerPost

In another “egregious” incident in October in Tulkarem, two eyewitnesses interviewed by Amnesty described Israeli forces opening fire from a watch tower on a crowd of at least 80 people who were holding a peaceful protest in solidarity with Gaza.

IDF soldiers opened fire on journalists wearing clearly visible “Press” markings as well as on a Palestinian man who was riding past the protest on a bike.

By carrying out such attacks, said Amnesty, Israel is violating international standards including the U.N. Basic Principles on the Use of Force and Firearms by Law Enforcement Officials.

Israel’s Claims Against UN Relief Agency Lack Evidence

Channel 4 noted Monday that all 13,000 of UNRWA’s Gaza employees’ names “have been checked against the U.N. terrorism list and, as recently as last May, were vetted and approved by Israel.”

The UNRWA quickly fired nine of the employees named by Israel. On Monday, U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres established “an independent review group to assess whether the agency is doing everything within its power to ensure neutrality and to respond to allegations of serious breaches when they are made.”

The Daily Beast also obtained a copy of the Israeli dossier and — similar to Channel 4 — reported Tuesday that it “includes little evidence to back up” Israel’s allegations against UNRWA employees.

Ashish Prashar, a spokesperson for Gaza Voices, said in response to the new reporting that “we now know that the document used to suspend funding to UNRWA ‘provides no evidence.’”

“This is the latest campaign in a decades-long attack on UNRWA by Israel and a subset of the broader campaign to eliminate the Palestinian refugee issue,” said Prashar.

“People in Gaza are starving, and because of spurious allegations made in a dodgy dossier, they will experience worse hunger. This scandal should lead to resignations from officials in the U.S., U.K., Germany, and elsewhere who all suspended funding to a besieged people experiencing a genocide as a result of a baseless accusation by the génocidaires themselves.”

Jeremy Scahill, a senior correspondent at The Intercept‘s criticized the Biden administration and The Wall Street Journal for characterizing the dossier as “some smoking gun.”

The future of global justice has become intrinsically linked to Palestine. The question is whether Israel—the last of the settler colonies—will be allowed to continue pursuing its apartheid policies and conduct itself as a rogue state. International organizations and institutions have the powerful tool of isolation and a number of consequences they could impose on Israel to end its cruel and destabilizing imperialist project. If not now, when?

Israel’s Use of Starvation as a Weapon of War Brings Gaza to the Brink of Famine | Democracy Now!

Israel is accused of using starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza, as Israeli forces continue to severely restrict the delivery of humanitarian aid, food and medical supplies to millions inside the besieged territory. “It is not possible to create a famine by accident,” says Alex de Waal, an expert on the subject who serves as the executive director of the World Peace Foundation at Tufts University. Despite months of international warnings calling on Israel to open up aid channels, de Waal says famine in Gaza is “inevitable” as those warnings have been ignored and Israel’s war on Gaza is poised to continue.

The American Jewish Committee, going back to 1917 in the United States, expressed grave warnings that a Jewish state could oppress non-Jews in Palestine.

Mainstream Jewish organizations knew endless violence and oppression would result from imposing a Jewish state in Palestine against the stated wishes of its non-Jewish inhabitants. This has proved accurate, most recently in Israel’s methodical destruction of the means of life for millions in Gaza, and increasing state and settler terror against residents of the occupied West Bank.

Israel’s national security minister prefers Trump in power

Lets Talk “Terrorist & Terrorism” . Ben Gvir was designated a “Terrorist by the State of Israel”. He is now their Minister for National Security. How is that?

Israel’s “Proud Boy” openly prefers Trump for President and says he won’t be dictated to by Netanyahu or America. It really is a case of the tail wagging the dog.

He first joined a right-wing youth movement affiliated with Moledet, a party which advocated transferring Arabs out of Israel, and then joined the youth movement of the even more radical Kach and Kahane Chai party, which was eventually designated as a terrorist organization and outlawed by the Israeli government.[16][17]  When he came of age for conscription into the Israel Defense Forces at 18, he was exempted from service by the IDF due to his extreme-right political background.[18][15]

Israeli national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has criticized US President Biden’s approach to Israel’s war in Gaza, arguing that the situation would be “completely different” if former President Donal Trump was in power.

“Instead of giving us his full backing, Biden is busy with giving humanitarian aid and fuel (to Gaza), which goes to Hamas,” Ben-Gvir told the Wall Street Journal on Sunday. “If Trump was in power, the US conduct would be completely different.”

Itamar Ben-Gvir, who was appointed as a National Security Minister in December 2022, is known for his far-right views. He previously called for the occupation of Gaza and the expulsion of the Palestinian population from the enclave. He also threatened to bring down Netanyahu’s governing coalition if the PM is too soft on Hamas.

The state of Israel: A critical Swedish assessment – Pearls and Irritations

Israel Claim “we are only defending ourselves” has never rung true historically

After warning the flotilla to end its attempt to proceed to Gaza, the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) sent an elite commando unit to board the Mavi Marmara and other vessels in order to stop their progress, impound the vessels and detain all the protestors (with the assistance of Israeli Navy vessels). The activists were not armed with guns but some used bars (and the IDF said knives) to fight back against the IDF personnel boarding from helicopters and ships. The IDF commandos came armed with guns, tear gas and stun grenades. Nine protestors were shot dead (peppered with bullets according to the Guardian) and around 30 were injured. Several IDF soldiers were injured, some seriously. Mankell was not injured, but along with hundreds of other, he was detained in Israel and then deported to Sweden. Mankell died of cancer in 2015, aged 67.

Chris Hedges: The Silence of the Damned – ScheerPost

The Sword of Damocles Mr Fish

IS REALITY

There is no effective health care system left in Gaza. Infants are dying. Children are having their limbs amputated without anesthesia. Thousands of cancer patients and those in need of dialysis lack treatment. The last cancer hospital in Gaza has ceased functioning. An estimated 50,000 pregnant women have no safe place to give birth. They undergo cesarean sections without anesthesia. Miscarriage rates are up 300 percent since the Israeli assault began. The wounded bleed to death. There is no sanitation or clean water. Hospitals have been bombed and shelled. Nasser Hospital, one of the last functioning hospitals in Gaza, is “near collapse.” Clinics, along with ambulances – 79 in Gaza and over 212 in the West Bank – have been destroyed. Some 400 doctors, nurses, medics and healthcare workers have been killed — more than the total of all healthcare workers killed in conflicts around the world combined since 2016. Over 100 more have been detained, interrogated, beaten and tortured, or disappeared by Israeli soldiers.

The dehumanization of Palestinians is lifted from the playbook of all settler colonial projects, including our own. This racism, where people of color are branded as “human animals,” is coded within the DNA of our institutions. It infects those chosen to lead these institutions. It lies at the core of our national identity. It is why the two ruling parties and the institutions that sustain them side with Israel. It feeds the perverted logic of funneling weapons and billions of dollars in support to sustain Israel’s occupation and genocide.

History will not judge us kindly. But it will revere those who, under siege, found the courage to say no.
