Palestinians in the West Bank are completely unprepared for the coming genocide

“Everyone came to congratulate us,” said his cousin Sheikh Habis al-Jazi at the funeral of the Jordanian truck driver who fatally shot three Israelis at the Allenby Bridge crossing between Jordan and the occupied West Bank on 8 September, and was himself killed by Israeli guards.
Maher Thiab Hussein al-Jazi arrived by truck at the goods inspection area on the occupied West Bank side of the Allenby Bridge on Sunday morning and opened fire with a handgun at Israelis operating the crossing.
Yohanan Schuri, Yuri Birenbaum and Adrian Marcelo Podzamczer died of their wounds. All three lived in illegal Jewish-only settlements in the occupied West Bank.
The three settlers were employed as forklift operators by the Israel Airports Authority, a department under the Israeli ministry of transport that manages land crossings.
Israel considers them to be civilians, although they were part and parcel of a military occupation that the International Court of Justice recently declared to be inherently illegal.
Israeli security guards shot and killed al-Jazi on the scene.
Footage circulated on social media, taken by someone from a nearby vehicle behind a fence, shows the lifeless body of al-Jazi. A man with a pistol then approaches the body and shoots al-Jazi in the head at point-blank range, even though he is already incapacitated.

The US on Monday also appeared to reject calls for an independent investigation into the fatal shooting of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi. State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel declined to acknowledge that Eygi was killed by an Israeli soldier, but he called for the process to “play out and for the facts to be gathered”.

Israeli forces using ‘war-like’ tactics in occupied West Bank: UN

Calls by Israeli leaders to turn the West Bank into “mini-Gaza” are “translating into military operations,” the United Nations human rights office warned on Monday.
“Israel’s genocidal violence risks leaking out of Gaza and into the occupied Palestinian territory as a whole,” stated Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the West Bank and Gaza.
“There is mounting evidence that no Palestinian is safe under Israel’s unfettered control.”
Albanese warned that “apartheid Israel is targeting Gaza and the West Bank simultaneously, as part of an overall process of elimination, replacement and territorial expansion.”
“The long-standing impunity granted to Israel is enabling the de-Palestinization of the occupied territory, leaving Palestinians at the mercy of the forces pursuing their elimination as a national group.”

“We need actions, not words,” said Ibrahim Sidda, 55, whose home was also attacked during the pogrom. “The army says they’re against this violence — so do something. Here in Area C we are under Israel’s jurisdiction and security responsibility. Let them come and protect us. Stop the settlers. We didn’t come to them; they came here.”

With army incursions and airstrikes deepening Palestinian resentment, Israel’s West Bank campaign is driving recruitment for militant groups.

The “Exploitation of natural resources” section (V/B.4, 124-133) was of particular interest to me. In it, the Court confirmed what I had set out to disclose, that Israel has used, misused and abused its illegal control over the water resources of Palestine to gain a permanent hold over all of the land.
The Court concluded that the occupied West Bank (especially Area C), rich in natural resources, has been used by Israel to the exclusive benefit of its own population, while disadvantaging Palestinians and their communities. Area C covers 61 percent of the West Bank and is under the complete control of Israel.

“We are seeing frequent allegations of Palestinian children being detained on their way home from school, or shot while walking on the street,” said the U.N. agency.

Israel is launching a political and military assault on the West Bank. Its legalization of settlements in the north is a crucial part of the story.
In 1979, Israeli settlers and soldiers were already terrorizing residents of the Palestinian village of Halhoul and committing violence elsewhere, writes Ellen Cantarow.
Israel has now become a largely fascist country with a deeply fascist government and it has been transformed into that, at least in significant part, because my country has profusely underwritten the most malignant developments there, which are still ongoing.
Just as I was finishing this article, in fact, the Associated Press reported that “Israel has approved the largest seizure of land in the occupied West Bank in over three decades.” That land grab, its account added, “reflects the settler community’s strong influence in the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the most religious and nationalist in the country’s history.” Thus have the prophecies of the religious-nationalist Gush Emunim been fulfilled.

The Israeli genocide in Gaza continues unabated with no vision for how the war would wind down, generating a political crisis in Israel that provides Smotrich with the cover he needs to eat up the rest of the West Bank. The U.S. gives Smotrich what he wants in exchange for a fleeting restoration of the economic status quo ante, and the World Bank can rush in to further bolster the financial sector in the West Bank. But all this amounts to little more than a morphine shot, allowing the PA a temporary respite before a potential collapse.

The birth of Israel on 14 May 1948 is said to be based on three related claims. Some people regard these claims as questionable. They form the basis for why Israel’s birth is said to be illegitimate.

It is estimated that from October 7, 2023 until May, 2024, close to 36,000 Palestinians and 1500 Israelis have lost their lives in the Hamas-Israel war. Thousands more Gazans have perished from malnutrition or disease or have disappeared under mountains of sand and rubble.

Israel has approved the largest seizure of land in the occupied West Bank in more than three decades, according to a report released by an Israeli anti-settlement watchdog, a move that will exacerbate the escalating tensions surrounding the conflict in Gaza.

Top Israeli officials on Sunday discussed plans to expand illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank as an act of retaliation against countries that recently joined the majority of the international community in recognizing Palestinian statehood.

The Israeli military, at times in collaboration with Israel’s Border Police and Israel’s domestic secret police Shin Bet, has continued to conduct deadly raids into the occupied West Bank, wreaking havoc to private Palestinian property and civilian infrastructure in the process.

While the world’s influential governments are allowing Israel to carry on with its genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, the same governments are turning a blind eye to Zionist colonization and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians in the West Bank. Alas the Palestine Authority of Mahmoud Abbas and all the Palestinian factions in the West Bank are spectators, watching as if they are neutral without even attempting to organize an effective non-violent campaign to boycott Israeli products. If things continue as they are now, it is only a matter of time before the West Bank will face an ethnic cleansing similar to what happened in the 1948 Nakbah.
According to the human rights group Yesh Din, Israeli settlers attacked 11 Palestinian villages and towns on Saturday alone. They threw stones, set fire to more than 100 vehicles, damaged scores of homes and businesses, and slaughtered hundreds of livestock. In the village of Beitin, near Ramallah, settlers shot dead 17-year-old Omar Hamed. In Al-Mughayyir, slightly further north, 25-year-old Jihad Abu Aliya was killed in circumstances that are still somewhat unclear: settlers were attacking the village at the time, but the Israeli army stated that Abu Aliya was killed by their fire. Another incident captured on a security camera shows Israeli soldiers standing guard while settlers set fire to a car in the town of Deir Dibwan, also near Ramallah.

Now, Israel is accelerating land theft in the occupied West Bank, conducting assassinations of resistance fighters and killing children across the territory, despite repeated warnings that continued Israeli aggression would bring about an eruption.
Israeli soldiers killed more than 420 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since 7 October, and at least nine were killed by settlers, the UN monitoring group OCHA has reported.
Of those killed, 113 were children.

Undaunted, Netanyahu mocks international criticism for his actions. “Reports this week that Israel plans to build a further 3,476 settler homes in Maale Adumin, Efrat, and Kedar fly in the face of international law,” said in a statement Volker Türk, U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights responding to the Israeli government latest settlement expansion plans.
Türk also said that Israel is violating the Fourth Geneva Convention by “effectively transferring civilian population of Israel to the occupied territory while displacing the Palestinian population from their land. Such transfers amount to a war crime that may engage the individual responsibility of those involved.”

Since October, Mahmoud Amer’s village in the occupied West Bank has been under an effective blockade. He can’t leave by car, and every time he wants to leave on foot — whether to visit a relative or run an errand — or invite a guest into the village, he has to ask the adjacent Israeli settlement for permission.
“I call the settlement security coordinator every time the children go to school, or when my sister comes to visit,” Amer told +972 and Local Call. “We were told that if we left on foot without telling them, they would cause us problems.”

The only reason they wore their disguises was so they couldn’t be charged. Its what Israelis have always done. They used Australian passports in Dubai. Israel has normalized assassination in the eyes of the world. If Russians do it or North Koreans its front page news for weeks.

Perhaps Ben-Gvir’s greatest achievement, so far,has been his ability to create a perfect amalgamation between the political interests of the settlers, the government, and its security apparatus.
The war in Gaza is a perfect opportunity for the far-right National Security Minster to achieve what he really wants: a religious war, one which will ultimately lead to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, not just from Gaza but from the West Bank as well.

Israeli cunning 1) Start and Intafada 2) Create an Oct 7. 3) Create the 2024 Nakba 4) Call it Defense
The settlers want Gaza in the West Bank so they can drive out as many Palestinians as possible, and the army backs them up. According to UN figures, since October 7, 344 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, 88 of them children. Eight or nine of them were killed by settlers. At the same time, five Israelis were killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, four of them by security forces.
The reason is that the IDF has in recent months started firing from the air to kill in the West Bank, like in Gaza. On January 7, for example, the army killed seven youngsters who were standing on a traffic island near Jenin, after one of them apparently threw an explosive charge at a jeep and missed.
It was a massacre. The seven youngsters were members of one family, four brothers, two more brothers and a cousin. That doesn’t interest Israel.
Now the IDF is moving forces from Gaza to the West Bank. The Duvdevan undercover unit is already there, the Kfir Brigade is on its way. They’ll return to the West Bank stoked with the indiscriminate killing in Gaza and will want to continue the great work there as well.
Israel wants an intifada. Maybe it will even get one. It should just not feign surprise when this happens.

Undoubtedly, one of Hamas’ motivations was to negate the view that Palestine had given up its right to self-determination, and that Palestine could be erased. Recall the old delusional pre-Balfour Zionist slogan: “A people without land for a land without people.” Such utterances of this early Zionist utopian phase literally erased the Palestinians who for generations lived in Palestine as an entitled Indigenous population. With the Balfour Declaration of 1917, this settler colonial vision became a political project with the blessings of the leading European colonial power.
Given post-colonial realities, the Israeli project is historically discordant and extreme. It exposes the reality of Israel’s policies and the inevitable resistance response to Israel as a supremacist state. Israeli state propaganda and management of the public discourse has obscured the maximalist agenda of Zionism over the years, and we are yet to know whether this was a deliberate tactic or just reflected the phases of Israel’s development.

Israel’s problem is how to rid Palestine of Palestinians and be a majority of Jews. This has always been Israel’s priority. Even more so given the rapid transition of energy away from oil to renewables What will be the need for an Israel when the West no longer depends on fossil fuels?
The West Bank had already experienced its highest levels of unrest in decades during the 18 months before the October 7 attack on Israel.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces killed an unarmed 17-year-old boy inside the Khalil Suleiman Hospital. Médecins Sans Frontières, or Doctors Without Borders, also witnessed Israeli soldiers blocking medical workers in ambulances carrying discharged patients home. Drivers were forced to get out of their vehicles, strip down and kneel in the streets. MSF says it’s part of a pattern targeting healthcare workers in the West Bank since October 7, which also has included shooting live fire and tear gas at hospitals, blocking emergency vehicles, and humiliating and harassing medical staff.
Outside the hospital compound, Israeli soldiers desecrated a mosque in Jenin and read out Jewish prayers in the style of an Islamic call to prayer. This came as part of a three-day Israeli raid on the Jenin refugee camp which killed at least 12 Palestinians. Israeli forces arrested over 100 others.

Farmers in the occupied West Bank face near-daily incursions and violence from Israeli settlers, to the point that they live in fear of having their homes and land stolen, they say.
Added to that is the violence they witness in nearby urban areas, like Jenin city and refugee camp that the Israeli army stepped up raids on, killing 10 people and wounding 20 in just one week.
According to the Ministry of Health, at least 237 Palestinians have been killed and about 2,850 others injured by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank since October 7.
Farmer Ayman Assad, 45, and his family can clearly hear the attacks from their home just 2km (1.2 miles) from the camp and they have made the past few weeks a nightmare for him, his wife and five children.
