The Strange Case Of Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price – » The Australian Independent Media Network

Now when it comes to her performance, we have a whole strange series of alternative facts here. While it may seem like just getting media attention is the name of the game when you’re not in power, the fact remains that Pauline has managed to get media attention since last century but she’s still a long way from forming government and some of the comments Senator Price have made don’t make your average voter think that she has a strong grip on what needs to be done. Her attacks on the AEC and her comments on how great colonisation was are the sort of things that make the daily news, but they don’t make most people immediately go: “Wow, there’s a future leader!” And it begs the question, “What’s wrong with the current Liberal talent that you have to go outside the party and outside the House of Reps to find a worthy candidate?”

So in answer to the question that a newspaper recently asked, “Should Jacinta Nampijinpa Price run for PM?”, I’d merely say: I don’t know, so I’ll say no.

Paying the ‘Price’: The ‘no’ case infected by fanatical Christianity

The sad truth – » The Australian Independent Media Network

Let’s set the record straight, please. Slavery and people trafficking was fine according to British thinking in the day. A Christian, God-given right and quite justifiable. So why does Jacinta Price for a moment think that Indigenous Australia was an exception to that belief? The thought that Indigenous blacks in Australia were considered differently to those elsewhere and benefited from colonisation?

Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price’s comment that: … she did not believe there are any ongoing impacts of colonisation, but in some cases, a “positive impact”. … begs to be disputed. There is zero positivity in the planned extermination of the world’s oldest culture. But that was the plan. However, in fairness to Senator Price she,…

Children were taken away under government policies of protection and assimilation aimed at having indigenous people adopt European culture and behaviour to the exclusion of their family and background. The assimilation policy presumed that, over time, indigenous people would die out or be so mixed with the European population they became indistinguishable (The Path to Reconciliation, 1997, p 24).

Yes, I would argue that the total extermination of Australia’s Indigenous people was deliberately intended. If not by the bullet, then by the policies of those governments that saw them as a stain on white purity. God favoured the white man and they set out to do His work.

Culture warrior Jacinta Nampijinpa Price says out loud what white conservatives do not dare

Coalition spokeswoman for Indigenous Australians Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price at the National Press Club on Thursday.

When one individual doesn’t make or even begin to represent history and denies the reality of the racial experience of whole generations of people she’s chosen by the LNP as their representative and promoted to a White audience by Peter Dutton as being the REAL representative of Australia’s Aboriginal peoples .  Price was selectively chosen to be the “Avenging Angel” listened to at the expense of hundreds of Indigenous persons elected as representatives who came together to discuss debate and work on for years to arrive at the consensus came to be known as the Uluru Statement. When Jacinta Price speaks at CPAC or the Press Club we are witnessing exactly what Marcia Langton said was the truth. That the logic of their argument was basically racist or plain stupid.

What we are witnessing is the same logic applied when there’s a 97% consensus among Climate scientists about the reality of man-made Climate Change that the 3% of corrupt deniers get as much if not more publicity than the scientists. Paid puppets of the Murdoch media and the IPA, like Andrew Bolt, are promoted as “experts” in publications telling Australians for years that the planet was cooling. The investment by a concentrated mainstream media in presenting the argument of “don’t know vote No” for as one advocating basic human rights and unifying when history and social metrics clearly say otherwise is absurd. Then broadcasting “Yes” to be divisive and reverse racist beggar’s belief. However, when analyzed and push comes to shove that is as Marcia Langton says the publicity being given to the absurdity of the systemic racist logic that we have all lived with these past 240 years but only some of us have in the main Indigenous Australians have lived lived.

It’s the same argument imported direct from America today by Trumpists and neo-Nazis and Christian Nationalists who like Jacinta Price say “slavery was good for the African Americans” and their experience today is their Lifestyle Choice

This is what Peter Dutton gets from making Jacinta Nampijinpa Price the Coalition’s Indigenous spokeswoman: a weaponised conservative woman who can say things out loud that white conservatives haven’t dared to say since the early 1960s.

Price’s comment conveniently ignored the fact that colonisation to many Aboriginal people, unlike convicts who might have been flogged but eventually got tickets of leave, meant starvation through the loss of hunting grounds, loss of life through massacre by guns and poison, mass deaths through imported disease, and last-chance survival in mission stations where traditional culture and language were often forbidden and families were broken apart.

The idea that the resulting trauma did not flow through generations to the present day is poppycock.

Women promoted in Liberal frontbench reshuffle – Michael West

Dutton, Price and the Cabinet are all at odds with each other. Dutton left the Cabinet’s meeting on the Voice in a quandary when he said he wanted local voices on the ground and a National Voice legislated but “Not in the Constitution”. He agreed that Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders had a special place in history. However after he left he told the mainstream media he was against a National Voice and that the Voice was solely a local and State matter as far as the LNP were concerned, throwing a cat among the pigeons.

Price and Dutton seem to be on the same page and agree to local voices legislated, but not a National Voice. Somehow by magic, those many diverse local and state voices would still be heard in the Capital. Price is the example as to why a single Indigenous MP isn’t representative of the First Nation people. She remains a lone spokesperson for herself. It seems she’s been appointed to Cabinet to support Dutton’s argument against the notion of a National Voice by becoming Dutton’s idea of a National Voice. She’s the Voice he supported behind closed doors and lead the Cabinet to believe he was in favor of then did a presser to publicly say didn’t. Are we confused enough by the worst Opposition leader yet? The Liberal has appointed 2 more Nationals to his front bench turning the LNP into and NLP.

Watch these twits confuse not only each other, but the Public as well, and betray the true history of Australia and it’s First Nation’s Peoples.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has unveiled his reshuffled frontbench, with Jacinta Price the new opposition Indigenous Australians spokeswoman.

Nationals under fire over voice decision – Michael West

When Class systematically dissects even those that deserve attention the most it’s used to political advantage to put the brakes on recognition of injustice and halt progressive and just change

“It is important we bring respect to this. This should be a conversation we should be able to have,” he added.

Labor minister Bill Shorten told Nine Ms Burney had been a great advocate for First Nations Australians.

“The issue is about whether or not we put First Nations people on the nation’s birth certificate, the Constitution,” he said.

Meet Sky After Dark’s Voice to Parliament – » The Australian Independent Media Network

Newly elected senator for the NT, Jacinta Price, told Sky’s Paul Murray that she is “feeling really strong” and ready to “get out there and fight” for Australians.

“Australia will soon realise that they’ve just elected our Joe Biden to run the country and they’re just going to have to learn the hard way. But I’m certainly going to be there to hold them to account and to help pick up the pieces once we have to.”

So much for constructive conciliation.

In fact, it’s hard to see how having Ms Price in parliament will be in any way constructive.

Just because you are Aboriginal doesn’t make you right – » The Australian Independent Media Network

Mark Latham might think Jacinta Price has “impeccable credentials for speaking on indigenous issues”. Some think Tony Abbott does too.

Every time I hear Alice Springs councillor and political hopeful Jacinta Price speak, I cringe.

Ms Price has announced her ambition to contest the NT seat of Lingiari in the next federal election as a CLP candidate, a move welcomed by Mark Latham and Warren Mundine who both sing her praises.
