Chris Hedges: PEN America Self-Destructs – ScheerPost

PEN America may continue to exist, indeed its obsequiousness to governmental and corporate power will probably assure its funding, but it is a hollow brand used to justify the crimes and lies of the U.S. government and Israel.

Uluru Statement from the Heart

Andrew Bolt clings to the IPA like a leech for their intellectual narratives

For the IPA, the history of settlement and dispossession, however lamentable, forms no part of the referendum proposition on the table. For them, the present disadvantage of Indigenous Australians, again however lamentable, owes more to the way that Indigenous Australians have allowed themselves to become pauperised and impoverished by welfare systems, and encouraged to think of themselves as helpless victims rather than actors in their own personal advancement. They want to persuade people that rights and assistance should be stripped away, arguing, that “woke” policies and government interventions, however well intentioned, have not improved their situation and generally have made it worse. For them, only policies based on personal responsibility, providing individual rather than collective rights and rewards for work, will create the wealth, human, social and economic capital, and incentives to lift people from their misery. The inequality, and material and spiritual poverty of the US is a testament to the truth of their gospel. Depriving the IPA and their sponsors of their special privileges and advantages, and their access to the power they enjoy should be one of the more com

Top Liberal sounds the alarm on party’s direction

Liberal State Treasurer Matt Kean painted a stark portrait of the future of the Liberals.

Morrison has managed to TRUMP the LNP

“Look at the Republican Party, the party of Lincoln, the party that has abolished slavery – has now become the party of Trump, the party of Putin sympathisers and anti-vaxxers. “That is not in the Liberal Party’s interests.”

Coalition at odds on net-zero emissions target

COAL-ition N-LP or L-NP, they still remain very divided. Morrison wants to maintain an unsigned International Agreement substituted by his religious “Committment” which makes him one with the world but neither the World, the Nationals nor we agree with him. His mentor afterall was Brian Houston.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is downplaying remarks made by a National Party colleague declaring the net-zero emissions target “dead”. Nationals Senator Matt Canavan said the internationally agreed target was “all-over”, despite Prime Minister Scott Morrison earlier confirming it was still the Coalition’s policy.

Climate change: Josh Frydenberg criticised by Bridget McKenzie over net zero emissions targets

Bridget McKenzie says too many MPs want to be fashionable about climate change.

The L/– NP

The Victorian senator, who holds several regional-based policy portfolios, says too many federal MPs were worried about being “cool” rather than “the consequences of their decisions”.

WA Liberal landslide buries Turnbull and Hanson. – » The Australian Independent Media Network

It’s a Labor landslide in WA. Mark McGowan’s party may end up with 41 seats as the Liberal primary vote collapses 15% , and it’s all over bar the infighting and the recriminations. Yet one thing is sure. The fall of “Emperor” Colin Barnett can have nothing to do with Malcolm Turnbull; no blame no…
