The Rampage of Reckless Individualism Matches Climate Change as a Global Threat | The Smirking Chimp

Just as we needed institutional and legal checks and balances against monarchs, high time to confront the tyranny of willful individualism run amok. As Russell Kirk summarizes, “Individualism is a denial that life has any meaning except the gratification of the ego; in politics it must end in anarchy. It is not possible for one man to be both Christian and Individualist.” What about being a genuine democrat vs. a radical, anti-democratic individualist? Or a Constitutionalist vs. a rebellious individualist, per Jan. 6 infamy? It’s really become an either/or dilemma and nothing less than everything is at stake.

Fox Focuses On Buffalo Shooter's 'Mental Health,' Not Racism

Fox avoids systemic dysfunction it’s always an individual problem that emerges from absolutely nowhere other than La La Land but definitely not from a dysfunctional social environment. Nature’s defects can’t be controlled because like evolution Social Darwinism has brought about the best society has to offer and shit happens! Social change is at best incremental and never revolutionary and needs to be controlled. Power wealth and privilege are in the main deserved is the ideology sold and they must be protected at all cost.

Why America Trails Every Other Wealthy Nation in Vaccinations | The Smirking Chimp

It seems to me that in our haste to blame Trump and the culture that produced him for why the rate of vaccinations in America trails every other wealthy country, we’re missing a character trait that may offer a fuller explanation. This trait is found among Democrats and Independents in blue America as well as Republicans in Trumpland. In fact, I think it’s been near the core of the American personality since before the founding of the nation — a stubborn, selfish individualism. What do you think?

America the Terrible – » The Australian Independent Media Network

In a country that seems obsessed with individual freedom, even if it kills other people by giving them a dreadful disease, the idea of putting society first, and helping those less fortune seems akin to communism. It seems ironic that the countries that are truly great are Scandinavian countries that are social democracies on the whole. For example, consider performance on valuable attributes such as happiness (Finland No. 1, USA No.18), education (Finland No.1, USA No. 20), community (Iceland, No. 1, USA No. 21), and life satisfaction (Finland No.1, USA No. 17). Given its enormous wealth, America is consistently outperformed by other developed countries on things that really matter to people. It seems the problem is that for far too long many Americans have believed their own propaganda.

It is greed that has led Australian banks to steal from dead people | Richard Denniss | Opinion | The Guardian

Greed is good. Or so said Michael Douglas’ character Gordon Gekko in the 1980s hit film Wall Street. Gekko went further, stating “Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind”.’

But greed also leads Australian banks to steal from dead people.
