As Gaza Starves, Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir Calls to Reduce Humanitarian Aid | Common Dreams

Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir

Anti-refugeeism, Anti- Aid, is pure Zionist Ideology and has been for since the beginning of the doctrine. They opposed any Red Cross assistance given to Jews during WW2 and promoted deals with the Nazis and Mussolini to betray the British in Palestine in exchange for the forced transference of Jews from labour camps to Palestine. Aid delays any project and today it does the same. Its why UNRWA the UN and any other volunteer agencies are so fiercely attacked. Ben Gvir was a terrorist at 16 and still remains an unashamed terrorist today.

“In our opinion Israel should withhold fuel from Gaza and reduce the humanitarian [aid] that enters,” Ben-Gvir said on social media, adding that he would not support a cease-fire deal put forward by Israel because it “would endanger the future of the state of Israel.”

I’ve seen every Jerusalem flag march in last 16 years. This one was the ugliest – Pearls and Irritations

2XABNHR Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, surrounded by Security officers, speaks as he stands outside Damascus gate In Jerusalem, Thursday June 5 2024. Tens of thousands of young religious Ultra nationalists Zionist men and women, have paraded through Muslim parts of the Old City of Jerusalem in the annual Jerusalem day Flag march, an event that threatens to trigger further violence in the Israel-Hamas war. Jerusalem day marks the reunification of the city during the Six Day War and IsraelOs capture of the Temple Mount and the Western Wall, JudaismOs holiest sites. Photo by Eyal Alamy

The Flag March on Jerusalem Day is an accurate thermometer of the condition of Israeli society. It measures the levels of hatred, racism and violence in the religious Zionist society and the tolerance of the police and the rest of society to these traits. This year’s diagnosis is terminal. Wednesday’s march was one of the most violent and ugliest I have seen – and I have witnessed every single one over the past 16 years.

Fifty-seven years after Jerusalem was united and eight months since the outbreak of the war, the Israeli leadership that passed through Damascus Gate on Wednesday has no relevant answer for the future and for the people of Jerusalem and Israel. They have no plan, no solution and no hope to offer. Instead, they hope we will make do with revenge.

Collective punishment

Eyewitnesses say the attack on the Nuseirat school was horrific, with Israeli forces releasing two bombs on the building that was sheltering 6,000 Palestinians who had been displaced multiple times over the course of Israel’s genocide. At the site of the attack, the smell of blood hangs heavy in the air, reported Palestinian journalist Hind Khoudary.

“We were inside the school and suddenly we were bombed, people here turned to pieces on a harsh night … this building housed families and young people, and the shelling took place without warning,” survivor Anas al-Dahouk told Al Jazeera.

The school is one of the many UNRWA facilities that have been targeted by Israeli forces since October. According to Lazzarini, 180 UNRWA buildings have been attacked, killing at least 450 Palestinians in UN facilities alone.

More strikes on Gaza with no ceasefire in sight

A Palestinian boy stands among rubble from a UN-run school that was housing displaced people in Nuseirat, in the central Gaza Strip, and was hit during an Israeli bombardment.

Israel doesn’t even know if any of the 40 killed were Hamas. Yet they are prepared to make the excuse that it was a legitimate precision strike because the 30 Hamas militants they were targeting were holding 6000 Gazans hostage. (Old Dog)

On T hursday, Israel hit a Gaza school building with what it said was a targeted airstrike on up to 30 Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters inside, and a Hamas official said 40 people were killed including women and children sheltering at the UN site.

Israel’s military said it had identified nine of 30 militants targeted in the strike. The UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) said its school was being used as a shelter for 6000 displaced people at the time.

Why do Palestinians always “Die” in the Passive Mood, but Israelis are never named as the Killers?

When Palestinians are killed by Israel, they are often referred to by the media as “people” instead of Palestinians and the passive “died” is used instead of “killed.” They do the opposite in the case of the Israelis, referring to “conflict” instead of occupation and terming Israeli-squatter-settlements on Palestinian land “disputed” rather than “illegal” (as they are according to the Geneva Convention). This pattern demonstrates the importance of scrutinizing and challenging the language used to deal with the

Israeli occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people.

It was statement of regret aimed not at the Palestinian victims of the attack, but at the U.S. government which continues to bless the Netanyahu government with its support and shield it from international accountability as the bombing continues.

America will allow Rafa to be flattened, allow Israel to occupy Gaza, West Bank and Jerusalem and then probably help Ethnic Cleanse Eretz Israel to bordering Arab States and allow the UNRWA to pay for their aid. That is “for the time being” because the Zionist Project is far larger than that. They want more that just Palestine as we have witnessed with the Golan Heights

Israeli forces’ slaughters of Gazans, journalists, doctors, humanitarian aid workers are described by military spokespersons and by Prime minister Netanyahu as tragic mistakes. As Israel pushes into Rafah, it exposes an uncomfortable truth: no court alone can protect civilians in war

Palestinians fleeing from Rafah

Legal thinkers can debate the wording of the ICJ’s latest order, and political leaders can debate the power of the court, but the only thing that can end the war is widespread international pressure for both sides to agree to a ceasefire. This includes from powerful nations such as the US.

Thus, it is not the legitimacy of the ICJ that is most urgently in question at the moment, but rather how deeply the world’s most influential powers believe in the role of international institutions to maintain peace and security.

Israel’s Stalking Operation against the ICC is Mirrored in its Canary Mission attack on US Universities

The backdrop to the plan of troglodytes in Congress to harass the ICC is that Netanyahu’s government in Israel has run a decade-long campaign of spying and intimidation against the judges of the International Criminal Court, according to an investigation of The Guardian and two Israeli magazines, +972 Mag and Local Call, published by journalists Harry Davies, Bethan McKernan, Yuval Abraham, and Meron Rapoport.

It is important to point out that the same cast of cyber-bullies has run an operation against American universities under the rubric of “Canary Mission,” in coordination with the inquisitorial Ministry of Strategic Affairs. headed by the American Ron Dermer. So reported James Bamford in The Nation. Canary Mission smears and doxes students and professors at American universities who stand for Palestinian rights in an attempt to interfere with their careers and for the purpose of intimidating them and others into silence.

Both operations are Israeli government-inspired but aided by local agents. Despite the US federal law, FARA, which requires agents of foreign governments to register, Israeli such agents have been exempted from such requirements for political reasons, including Canary Mission and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

Netanyahu doesn’t believe in the rule of law. After all, he isn’t trying to arrest the leaders of Hamas, he is trying to kill them. Bringing Netanyahu to justice would be a repudiation of his “rule of the jungle” ethos. It would also signal to the sovereignistas that borders are no protection against prosecution for war crimes. His whole life, Netanyahu has fought the law. Let’s hope that, in the end, the law will win.

Attack on Rafah ‘safe zone’ is abhorrent – Pearls and Irritations

A view of a makeshift camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on April 18, 2024. US officials have again raised concerns with their Israeli counterparts about Israel's plans for military operations in the southern Gaza city of Rafah. The White House said representatives of Israel's prime minister had agreed

The Israeli military has repeatedly bombed a designated civilian ‘safe zone’ in Rafah, injuring and mutilating many people and causing a rising number of deaths. Medical response capacity, after many months of targeted attacks on healthcare in Gaza, is severely limited; there is one functioning hospital in Rafah. Injured survivors of the attack may only receive the most rudimentary care, and may suffer greatly – now, and for the rest of their lives.

We, an organisation of healthcare workers, deplore this attack and the ongoing bombing of Rafah.

“How can a zone be safe in a war zone if it is only unilaterally decided by one part of the conflict?” asked Philippe Lazzarini, the commissioner-general of the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA); “It can only promote the false feeling that it will be safe.” Furthermore, on several occasions, Israel has bombed al-Mawasi, the area it says is safe.

On Feb. 20, Israel attacked a shelter operated by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, killing two family members of the organisation’s staff.

On May 13, an international U.N. staff member was killed after the Israeli army opened fire on a U.N. vehicle, one of the nearly 200 U.N. workers killed in Gaza in addition to the targeted assassination of aid workers.

[On May 26, an Israeli airstrike in Rafah killed at least 45 civilians, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu now tries to claim was a “tragic mistake.” The attack, which burned mostly women and children alive, took place two days after the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to stop its Rafah attack.]

Burning the Indigenous Population up in their Tents is an old Colonial Technique of Genocide

The Israeli air force bombed a refugee tent camp west of Rafah City around 8:45 pm local time on Sunday. The time is important, since +972 Mag reported that the Israeli total war on Gaza is being conducted by AI programs. One of them is called, sadistically, “Daddy’s Home.” The Israelis are tracking Hamas militants through the day but wait to strike at them when they come come at night, ensuring that their wives, children, relatives and friends are also killed. The AI program is set up to allow 15 to 20 noncombatant, civilian deaths for every member of the paramilitary Qassam Brigades killed in the attack. The eight missiles that struck the camp killed 2 Hamas operatives and left others 45 dead, mostly burned up in their flammable tents, the majority women and children.

Earlier Sunday, dozens of aid trucks entered Gaza from southern Israel under a new agreement to bypass the Rafah crossing with Egypt after Israeli forces seized the Palestinian side of it earlier this month. Israel’s military said 126 aid trucks entered via the nearby Kerem Shalom crossing.

But it was not immediately clear if humanitarian groups could access the aid — including medical supplies — because of fighting. The crossing has been largely inaccessible because of Israel’s offensive in Rafah. United Nations agencies say it is usually too dangerous to retrieve the aid. The World Health Organization last week said an expanded Israeli incursion in Rafah would have “disastrous” impact.”

As everyone who uses the word should know, antisemitism means hatred of Jewish people in general, and it is the vilest and most destructive form of race hatred. It is not constituted by condemning the policy or the war tactics of the Israeli government. Dutton’s attempt to conflate the two, and his call on the Australian government to withhold support from an independent international justice process, is shameful.
And history would note the irony that a law forged at Nuremberg to prevent repetition of the sufferings of millions of Jewish people was, 77 years later, dodged and despised by none other than the leader of Israel.

Biden and Congress Are Destroying International Law for Israel – ScheerPost

Colonialism failed indigenous Australians who have had a continuous genetic and lived connection to the land for 75 years. Their land rights were usurped and unrecognized from 1778- 1992. Australians recently had the opportunity to recognize and reverse the injustice done in the referendum on the Voice but voted “No”.

Zionists have been Colonizing and voting “No” at the point of a gun continuously for less than 100 years and have been doing it in the 21st Century with the support of America in denial of the majority of nations and peoples of the world

Whether it is through more subtle means, as Biden prefers, or the all-out and blatant assault on the rule of law preferred by Republicans, the end result will be the same. This is a moment of truth for the ICC and for international law in general. The world has already failed Gaza, as it has failed Palestine for a century. If there can at least be some justice after the fact, there might at least be something to build a better world on.

A Misplaced Purity: Democracies and Crimes Against International Law – » The Australian Independent Media Network

Such arguments echo an old trope. The two administrations of George W. Bush spilled much ink in justifying the torture, enforced disappearance and renditions of terror suspects to third countries during its declared Global War on Terror. Lawyers in both the White House and Justice Department gave their professional blessing, adopting an expansive definition of executive power in defiance of international laws and protections. Such sacred documents as the Geneva Conventions could be defied when facing Islamist terrorism.

Lurking beneath such justifications is the snobbery of exceptionalism, the conceit of power. Civilised liberal democracies, when battling the forces of a named barbarism, are to be treated as special cases in the world of international humanitarian law. The ICC prosecutor begs to differ.
