Israel has managed to introduce a new form of shielding in Gaza, one that appears unprecedented in the history of warfare.
Haaretz published an entire expose about how Israeli troops have abducted Palestinian civilians, dressed them in military uniforms, attached cameras to their bodies, and sent them into underground tunnels as well as buildings in order to shield Israeli troops.
They’re usually wearing Israeli army uniforms, many of them are in their 20s, and they’re always with Israeli soldiers of various ranks,” the Haaretz article notes. But if you look more closely, “you see that most of them are wearing sneakers, not army boots. And their hands are cuffed behind their backs and their faces are full of fear.”
States, including Australia, must not accept blatant disregard for international law — including binding decisions of the Security Council, orders of the International Court of Justice, and the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Biden’s bombs and missiles, dropped daily on Lebanon, a U.S. ally, by his puppet master Netanyahu, is wreaking havoc in this small defenseless country. The Israeli genocidal machine is waging an incinerating assault on fleeing civilians and critical facilities. The scorched-earth Israeli strategy is the same as what we have seen in Gaza
Netanyahu accused Macron of a “distressing distortion of history”, saying his country’s founding was achieved by the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, not a UN ruling.
Macron told his ministers that Netanyahu “must not forget that his country was created by a decision of the UN”, referring to the resolution adopted in November 1947 by the United Nations general assembly on the plan to partition Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state.
What Netanyahu conveniently ignores is what preceded what he calls the “Arab War” for more than two decades before there was the TERROR of the ZIONIST WAR . Which came first the chicken or the egg is very clear in this case. Their Project was to establish the Palestinian territory and British Mandate as the “Jewish Homeland”
The Jews conducted a war against both the British and Arabs who had initially accepted Jews as asylum seekers and immigrants. Only 2% of the Jews however purchased any land in Palestine and stole the rest. Before 1929 there was no real tension between Palestinians and Jews other than that “manufactured” by the Zionists to fulfil their political ambition. There was no excuse like the Holocaust in Europe.
Until such time as the rules are applied to all parties in an even-handed way, I personally can’t condemn people like Ismail Haniyeh or Yahya Sinwar. Their lives have been book-ended by massive crimes against humanity committed by the very people and regimes that have acted as their judges, their juries and their executioners. In case anyone forgets: legal scholars tell us that genocide is the crime of crimes. The leaders of Israel, the US and the West should face justice – and consequences – for that crime. Until such time as they do let Yahya Sinwar rest in peace.
It’s interesting how our politicians can talk so loftily about the rule of law, the rules-based order, and promote tough law and order measures. Yet when confronted by the most gut-wrenching and egregious example of cruelty and lawlessness in the Middle East, they remain silent.
And it’s this silence that enables the killing to continue.
The brave young men with their killing machines the IDF heroes kill for the thrill and experience to take back home and brag about
The killing of a 59-year-old woman who eyewitnesses said was shot in the back by a member of the Israel Defense Forces while she was harvesting olives on her land in the West Bank on Thursday highlighted what one United Nations official called a “war-like” assault by Israeli soldiers and settlers in the illegally occupied Palestinian territory.
Nothing is guaranteed to arouse passions and stir consciences more than a great film dramatization that shines a light on the truth of an issue in ways that earnest documentaries and studious literature often do not.
worst atrocity in British Mandate Palestine, the blowing up of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem in July 1946. The Irgun Tzva’i Le’umi, an underground Jewish organisation opposed to the British presence in the region, had planted a massive bomb in the basement of the hotel, which doubled as the headquarters of the British colonial government in Palestine. Ninety-one people were killed and 46 injured, most senior government officials. It was an attack from which, some claim, the British will to govern the region never fully recovered and yet it remains, essentially, a footnote in the story of Britain’s tortuous retreat from Empire.
Israel has gone way way ahead of the “worst” atrocity since 1946
This television series was released in 2011 and resulted in extreme reaction of Zionist Jews in Australia then almost as extreme as today. Should anyone reveal the historic truths about Zionist Terrori in the takeover of Palestine by the Jews in the reality of the birth of Israel not according to Zionists it needs to be censored. We stand witness in 23/24 to the continuance of a historical context & truth that Israel & their Lobby continue to deny and don’t want told today. Australia’s Jewery as far back as 2011 were able to threaten SBS funding at government levels for showing this film then and those attitudes are even more amplified today. Their objections have been echoed here have been seemingly reduced to little more than trope claiming the true story of Israel remains untold. That the Ashkenazis were only defending themselves in 1945 and the Israelis are still defending themselves today.
Israel’s relationship with the UN and the rest of the world is at a breaking point, and U.S. obstruction offers no solution to this crisis—it only fuels it
Israeli authorities should withdraw proposed legislation in parliament aimed at preventing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) from operating in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and halt their campaign to destroy the UN’s most important aid agency for Palestinian refugees in Gaza and elsewhere.
“Will it ever be possible for Israel to discard the violent, exclusionary, militant, and increasingly racist aspects of its vision as it is embraced there by so many of its Jewish citizens?”
A historian who exposed the New England Journal of Medicine’s silence on Nazi atrocities confronted the journal’s treatment of Gaza during a Harvard symposium.
“Journalism is not a crime” But the Israeli Lobby in the UK is
As far as The Electronic Intifada is concerned, it will have only the opposite effect. Our colleague Asa Winstanley can count on our full support and solidarity, and as a publication we will continue to pursue with vigor any stories documenting British complicity in Israel’s crimes.
