Morrison’s misogyny, racism and bullying won’t disappear with a stat dec

1 He won’t bring on a defamation suit. The examination would destroy him

2 He doesn’t demand charges be brought for the signing of false Stat Decs. Because they’re not.

3 He offers to sign one himself but hasn’t. He’s merely “Posturing”!!

4 Can a PM be charged for signing a false Stat Dec?

Scott Morrison’s willingness to sign a statutory declaration over accusations of racism feels invalid considering his track record of lying, writes Dr Jennifer Wilson. THE PRIME MINISTER of Australia, Scott Morrison, announced on Sunday that he is prepared to sign a statutory declaration that he did not act in a racist manner towards the man he defeated for pre-selection in the seat of Cook in 2007.

The Insurrectionist Caucus Turns to Schoolyard Bully Tactics to Take over the GOP — and It’s Working | The Smirking Chimp

Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene are trying to scare anyone in the GOP who is even suspected of still having remnants of conscience into falling in line with Trump’s Big Lies: That the election was stolen and that the insurrection didn’t happen. It’s about paving the way for Trump to regain the White House, this time with the anti-democratic machinery shored up so that he doesn’t have to accept it the next time he loses an election. So while McCarthy isn’t a sympathetic figure in the slightest, that this is working on him should terrify us all.

Jesse Owens 1936 Olympic gold medal that enraged Hitler …

It was the summer of 1936 and Nazism was running rampant throughout pre-World War II Eastern Europe. The Olympics were coming to Berlin and Adolf Hitler viewed it as a golden opportunity to showcase his country and prove to the rest of the world that his Aryan race was superior. Not so fast, Adolf.

Twenty-two-year-old American Jesse Owens didn’t care much for Hitler’s politics—or any politics for that matter. He just wanted to show off his immense skills and represent his country to the best of his abilities. Just over a year earlier, on May 25, 1935, Owens recorded one of the more mind-boggling performances in track and field history. He broke three world records and tied another at the Big Ten Track and Field Championships in Michigan—in just 45 minutes!

Hitler viewed African-Americans as inferior and chastised the United States for stooping to use these “non-humans.” Despite the endless racial epithets and the constant presence of the red and black swastika, Owens made Hitler eat his words with four gold medals.

Owens Hits Gold

The first gold was in the 100 meters, where Owens edged out teammate Ralph Metcalfe in a time of 10.3 seconds.

Gold number two came in the long jump, where he fouled on his first two attempts. One was just a practice run where he continued down the runway into the pit, but German officials didn’t buy it and counted it as a jump. Top German long jumper Luz Long suggested Owens play it safe and jump a few inches before the usual take-off spot. He took his advice and qualified for the finals, where he won the gold with a leap of 26—5½. And Long was there to congratulate him. “It took a lot of courage for him to befriend me in front of Hitler,” Owens would later say. “You can melt down all the medals and cups I have and they wouldn’t be a plating on the 24-karat friendship I felt for Luz Long at that moment.”

The third gold was in the 200-meter dash, where he defeated, among others, Jackie Robinson’s older brother Mack and broke the Olympic record with a time of 20.7 seconds.

Gold number four was a controversial one—not with the Germans, but with his fellow Americans. American Jews Marty Glickman and Sam Stoller were supposed to run for the United States on the 4×100 relay team. At the last minute, they were replaced by Owens and Metcalfe and it was reported that Hitler asked U.S. officials not to embarrass him any further by having two Jews win gold in Berlin. Whether that’s true or not, the Owens-led U.S. team rolled to victory in a world record time of 39.8 seconds and Owens’ magical Olympics came to a close.

This man is guilty only because Steve Ciobo and Tony Abbott say he is. They are acting like Vigilantes

Acquitted of terror charges in 2004, Zaky Mallah is back in the news.

Young Muslim less literate than Steve Ciobo MP  was provoked into an angered response  by the minister  who discredited the Supreme Court of Australia’s decision on finding Zacky Mallah innocent of terrorism after he’d been held in maximum security detention for two years. Language, lack of Education and being Muslim Zacky’s  only crime for asking the minister a question  on Q&A. Tony Abbott attacked the ABC for allowing such despicable Australian on the show. Today in Australia it would appear a crime  for not accepting the insults of  this government.

It should be noted that when an indigenous Australian from a remote community asked the  the minister a question about Native Title he could only plead ignorance on the subject.

Referencing his own case, Mr Mallah asked: “What would have happened if my case had been decided by the minister himself and not the courts?”

Mr Ciobo said he would be happy to see Mr Mallah kicked out of the country.

“I got to tell you … my understanding of your case was that you were acquitted because at that point in time the laws weren’t retrospective but I am happy to look you straight in the eye and say I’d be pleased to be part of a government that would see you out of the country as far as I am concerned.”

“The Liberals have just justified to many Australian Muslims in the community tonight to leave and go to Syria and join ISIL because of ministers like (Mr Ciobo).” was Zacky’s reply.

The exchange appears to be out of character for the Sydney man who declared a “jihad of peace” in 2012 after visiting Syria and spending time on the frontline.

During his visit, Mr Mallah met with fighters from the Free Syrian Army and filmed footage for his YouTube channel. He was photographed holding an assault rifle but says he did not fight and had no intention of fighting.

Back home he has spoken out against clashes between the Islamic community and police and actively discouraged radicalised Australian Muslims from joining the Islamic State.

Zacky has some experience in understanding how ignorant men  like Steve Ciobo MP have the ability by  political stupidity alone to radicalize Muslims, the poor, the disadvantaged and even the educated and well off when openly strutting their vigilante attitudes.

Whose anger was justified in this case?

Coalition accused of ‘bullying’ ANU after criticism of fossil fuel divestment

Joe Hockey the invisible man had called on the university to reconsider its decision to jettison investment in seven companies

The government has been accused of bullying the Australian National University, after Joe Hockey criticised it for divesting from a number of fossil fuel companies.

“I would suggest they’re removed from the reality of what is helping to drive the Australian economy and create more employment,” Hockey told the Australian Financial Review.

Tim Buckley, former head of equity research at Citigroup and now head of the Institute of Energy Economics and Financial Analysis, said ANU was being “bullied” by the government over its stance.

“I find it absolutely bizarre because, the last time I checked, investment managers have the right to change their portfolios,” he told Guardian Australia.

“I can’t fathom why Australian politics has stooped as low as this. Joe Hockey should really be concentrating on his day job and try to pass his budget.

“The fossil fuel industry may be trying to desperately to put its fingers in the leaking dyke left, right and centre, but that won’t change the fact that Australia will have to face up to a future as a low-carbon economy.”

Sydney University has ruled out future investments in coalmining, while the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has said it will not lend to firms involved in thermal coal and coal seam gas. Last week, the Anglican diocese of Perth joined the Uniting Church in Australia in divesting itself of fossil fuels.

The viability of new coalmining projects in Australia has been questioned due to a depressed trading price and indicators that key markets are beginning to wean themselves off imported fossil fuels.

Last week China, the destination for 25% of Australia’s coal exports, imposed a 6% tariff on non-coking coal. The country is also introducing new standards to phase out imported “dirty” coal, which is blamed for causing the smog that regularly envelops cities such as Beijing.

Last year, China spent an estimated $US56.3bn on wind, solar and other renewable energy projects.

Investment in clean energy in Australia has slumped by 70% in the past year, due to uncertainty over the future of the Renewable Energy Target. Hockey has previously called wind turbines “utterly offensive” and “appalling”.
