Two and a half years to get here almost seems like America is India where you can simply buy time and delay justice until after death as long as you have the money to buy it.

Donald Trump is under indictment for trying to steal an election but he may very well be given absolution for his crimes by the free and fair electoral system he has demeaned and degraded ever since he entered politics. If that were to happen I’m afraid that the half of the country that still believes in democracy and the rule of law would be hard-pressed to keep the faith if that were to happen. What would be the point?

It sounds simple doesn’t it? So why isn’t it?

We don’t know, and will probably never know, the full contents of the folders at Mar-a-Lago containing U.S. nuclear and other secrets. The Miami courtroom where Trump is to be tried later this year will shield them from the jury, reporters, and the public. That won’t be a problem for jurors; to determine Trump’s guilt or innocence of espionage, conspiracy, obstruction, and the other charges, they will only need to know: 1) that the files exist; 2) that they were stolen by Trump; and 3) that their existence at Mar-A-Lago was purposely hidden from government agents seeking to recover them.

Justice in America comes after you have already lived your life. Only then you will be judged and your sentence adjusted according to your age. However, that’s only the case for the rich and incorporated. For the rest, black brown and middle-class judgement comes quick and fast until and if you find yourself on death row. Will Trump ever be tried, judged and sentenced in a hand-picked MAGA-biased judicial system??

KEY POINTS The judge says Ms Carroll can proceed with lawsuits alleging she was raped by Mr Trump in a department store a quarter century ago. It’s because Mr Trump’s challenges were without merit. He was upholding a temporary New York state law letting adult victims of sexual abuse sue their abusers.

The nationwide outrage that Brown’s case inspired played a part in a change in Tennessee law in 2011. Now, anyone under the age of 18 cannot be charged for prostitution; rather, they are seen as too young to consent to sex. Some Tennessee activists are trying to change state laws so that juveniles can no longer be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Brown remains in prison, where she has been called a “model prisoner” and is pursuing higher education.
