Does ‘Radicalisation’ have to be a Problem? – » The Australian Independent Media Network

Any progressive change in the history of this country began with protests, civil unrest, and generally from the bottom up, not the top down. It comes from the belief that the systems we inherited were man-made and can be changed, need to be changed, and that there is an alternative.

But this is all predicated upon a rejection of the hegemony of neo-liberal ‘Centrism’ and the realisation that radicalisation is not always such a bad thing. We can change the world, but it all starts with a rejection of the ‘Common Sense’ that ‘There Is No Alternative’.

This is the uneducated POTUS who leads a  Radicalized and Terrorist Nation. Osama bin Laden was an educated man who resisted.Who will be remembered histotically as a “good man”? (ODT)

Mr Trump managed to dent his everyman status when he suggested that American grocery shoppers have to show ID to buy stuff.

In this he quickly joined several presidents of various stripes before him who have demonstrated that they have no idea how much a gallon of milk costs and have, indeed, rarely queued to buy tinned tomatoes and a loaf of bread.

“We believe that only American citizens should vote in American elections, which is why the time has come for voter ID like everything else,” he said.

“Voter ID. If you go out and you want to buy groceries you need a picture on a card, you need ID.

“You go out and you want to buy anything, you need ID, and you need your picture.

“In this country, the only time you don’t need it in many cases is when you want to vote for a president, when you want to vote for a senator, when you want to vote for a governor or a congressman. It’s crazy.”

Maybe it’s time to drop the word “Radicalised” for “Informed” or “Educated”. When the USA has SOS troops in 177 countries the word “Radical” seems inappropriate when used on an “Educated” individual who resisted foreign influence. Afterall bin Laden was an American operative an ally first and then was declared “the enemy” by the USA he hadn’t changed. He was “educated” it wasn’t university that changed him. After all the bin Laden family still remain close freinds of oil men like the Bushes today.  (ODT)
