Pearson slams "scare campaign" against the VoiceMay be pop art of text

“Indigenous leader Noel Pearson has labelled former Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s calls to scrap the Indigenous Voice “absurd” in an address to the Joint Select Committee for the Parliamentary Inquiry for the Voice Referendum.
On Monday Mr Pearson told the inquiry the Voice proposal had been examined and debated longer than any other public policy idea, saying it’s been “going on for nigh on 16 years.”
“I’m struggling to find any other example of a public policy issue in Australia that has taken as long as this to reach this point,” he said.
“It’s absurd to suggest we should ditch it and go back to the drawing board.”
