Some Israeli leaders see an ugly third way out of this conundrum – reducing the number of Palestinians. By starving Palestinians in Gaza and destroying much of the housing and infrastructure, Netanyahu seems to want to render Gaza unlivable. That would be consistent with the calls of his rightwing ministers for mass deportation from Gaza – an effort to wipe 2.2 million Palestinians from the demographic balance sheet.

Certainly Netanyahu does not want to make the demographics worse by offering any sustenance to Palestinian refugees who might want to return – even to Palestine. Destroying Unrwa is part of that awful plan. No funder should join it.

Israel’s Assault Is Making Gaza Unlivable

Determined Ethnic Cleansing, the killing, and wounding of 100,000 plus, turning Gaza into a car park, what is that but anything other than intended genocide? Post Gaza, will Israel rebuild the strip as the Americans did Germany post WW11? Israel once agreed at the UN to restore 70% of the destruction after their last massive attack and have done nothing for decades. That’s an Israeli promise! They left it to the rest of the world and the Palestinians to try and clean up. Why is the BDS so outlawed it needs to be implemented, and implemented in the strongest possible terms now.

Israel’s brutal attack on Gaza has already killed over 24,000 Palestinians. But the environmental effects of the war — from pollution of groundwater and soil to destruction of Gaza’s olive trees — will have devastating impacts long after the bombing stops.
