Journalists killed while reporting in Gaza

Freelance reporters Hamza al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya have been killed in an air strike.

Israel claims that the killing of over 100 journalists and photographers, and over 150 UN workers all proportionately higher in number than the killing of Palestinians is an unintended IDF act. But it will continue as long as their vetted reporting isn’t given total priority.

The Israel Defence Forces did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the strike or on the TV network’s allegation that the two journalists had been deliberately targeted.

In a statement on December 16, in response to the death of another al-Jazeera journalist in Gaza, the Israeli army said “the IDF has never, and will never, deliberately target journalists”.
