Free but unfair election: how Erdogan held onto Power in Turkey, and what this means for the Country’s Future

Australia’s elections showed just what Blue Teal independents were able to do and how weak Morrison’s Pentecostalism was.

However, the election in Turkey was far from fair.

1) Ekrem Imamoglu, was sentenced in December to more than two years in prison on a charge of “insulting public figures”.

2) Erdogan also has an almost ubiquitous grip over the Turkish media, His family ran the media

3) the non-transparent way the election results are processed.

4) Erdogan was viewed in an almost mythical fashion by conservative and religious voters. For them, Erdogan is a religious hero and saviour. Turkye isn’t  a Liberal Secular Democracy
