Remember when this campaign was going to be all about Tony Abbott? That happened twice, of course. When he was prime minister (be honest: can you really remember that time?) the campaign was going to be all about him, because he was PM, and because Labor would have made it all about him. But even a couple of months ago, the expectation was that Abbott, the deposed king, would loom gigantic over these eight weeks.
